Fit perfectly, had to drill 1" hole for battery sensor. Thank goodness I had my factory T bolts that holds the metal battery hold down bar. I'm not sure if the J hook bolts sold here would work very well. Plus the factory hold down bar is offset to match the offset of this tray. Kinda pricey for a plastic part though...

Just had to drill the temperature sensor hole (1" paddle drill cut right through with no problem) in the part to match the old tray. Otherwise, the dimensions are the same, and the tray is constructed of heavy duty plastic. Fit perfectly. I used my old hex nuts to hold the tray in place, cleaning and greasing the stud bolts and nuts. Used the old hold down bar and "T" bolts and nuts for a firm install.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knows that the battery tray on the 1997-2001 Cherokees is slightly different, as there is a hole in it for a battery temperature sensor to fit into (used by the newer OBDII system on these models). I didn't know this until too late, but was able to cut a hole in the tray to make it work. Otherwise the tray seems the same.

Perfect fit, same as the original one. As noted in another review, my '00 Jeep Cherokee XJ has a battery temperature sensor that requires a 1" hole be drilled in the tray. Otherwise, identical fit to all XJ's, I think.

Fits perfect , better built than OEM. As advertised , on time , would recommend.

Fit my 2001 Jeep Cherokee perfectly! I did have to drill the 1 inch hole for the battery temperature sensor,I used a 1 inch paddle bit and it walked right through the rigid plastic,do soak the 3 bolts that hold the old tray in with PB Blaster several days ahead,I sheared 1 bolt off with my socket,2 will hold well,I used anti seize on those 2 bolts for the future

wasn't even close don't waste your money doesn't fit the ZJ as advertised.
