I almost didn't buy this light because of the reviews that said the installation was tricky. But there were plenty of reviewers who said installation was easy, so I took a chance. Installation is, in fact, easy. But the instructions that come in the package are lousy, making an easy job befuddling. With all the run on sentences, sentence fragments, and non sentences, you can't really figure out what they want you to do. Fortunately the drawings are pretty good. The trickiest part was removing the platform that the circuit board sits on. I was worried about cracking the plastic, but the platform came out when I used a flat head screwdriver under all 4 slots. The rest of the installation was easy, even in my this-old-house which is usually full of surprises. The features of this light go beyond the standard motion sensor lights. There is a dawn-to-dusk setting, a standard motion sensor setting, and this nifty ambient setting which stays off during the day, at 20% when no one is in the room, and switches on to max when you enter the room. Great for a back porch or utility room. And the quality of the light is surprisingly good considering this is not an incandescent light. One thing to note when you're configuring the settings is that the tiny switches are delicate. They're too small to adjust with a finger, and I broke one adjusting it with a screwdriver. Maybe use the head of a straight pin or something.

Unless you are an electrician, and also know something about adjusting DIP switches. Don't buy this light. Great light but it is Not Pre Wired and Not Pre Set to turn off at the end of a cycle. Additionally, the instructions don't help much. You need to add a power cord as it is NOT included as described. This is an electrical puzzle. Don't buy if you knowledge is limited. I was be able to have it perform the way I needed it to, but I taught electronics in school for over 20 years. Consequently, I cannot recommend this light for the average person.

I like this light a lot. Once it is installed and adjusted to your liking, it works very well. I use it in out entryway at the front door, and love that it gives me a couple seconds advanced notice by coming up to full brightness before someone knocks or rings the doorbell. I purchased this 7.5 years ago and it worked perfectly the whole time. I just bought a replacement and it functions almost identically. The only difference I can see is that the light in the new one is warmer (more yellow) that the one I replaced. For the money, over seven years of service seems very reasonable and I'm satisfied with the life of the product, especially when comparing against other LED lighting products. Where I use the light it turned on and off several times every day, so it ran many thousands of cycles over its life. Installation and setup are a bit trickier than necessary. To find the wires you have to pop the actual light unit out of the base, which requires some force with a screwdriver or other pry tool, and there is no explanation given for where to find the wires (it isn't obvious where to find the wires at first). And the way I have it installed (flush mount on the ceiling), I had to drill 3 holes in the back of the mounting base, 2 for the mounting screws and 1 for the wires to pass through. not difficult, but if you're not comfortable with using a drill you might want to find another product. Setting up the functions is not as easy as it should be, either. While there are a lot of customizable options that I like, using tiny, old school DIP switches is not the best approach today. Timing, dimming, and sensor range all have multiple options to choose from, and they all seem to work pretty well once you get the DIP switches configured to your liking. But the instructions are not as clear as they could be and its a hassle to flip the TINY switches after mounting the light to get it dialed in. All in all, it is a nice light that functions well. Once the hurdles of installation and setup are complete, it works great. Set aside some time and be patient as you install it, and this light will be worth the minor hassle one must go through to get it set up. This is my second purchase and I'll buy another one 7 years from now when this one fails, if they are still available.

One of our HOA park bathrooms was vandalized destroying the ceiling light fixture. We wanted one that would turn on with movement and provide a lot of light using LED's. This one is perfect, streamlined lines, concealed controls, easily adjustable as for movement sensitivity and length of time it stays on. It works so well we are going to replace the light in the other bathroom. The hardest part of the install was getting the Phillips head screws out to take off the cover. The screws have the fine screw head requiring a small Phillips screwdriver in perfect condition. They should upgrade the quality of the two screws. Aside from that it is a great buy.

1st had same problem as some other reviewers.Sent wrong light then exchanged it for right one , just a hassle 2nd instructions are awful Figures helpful though. 3rd Worked great for 2 years now NADA. Have it wired direct and it has power. Trying to set it to Standard Mode. Good luck no where does it give you settings for that. 4th Tried calling support No answer Online support doesn't work. To bad the light was perfect for my application.

Installation is straight forward if you are handy. Depending on the mounting application, you may need to drill out the center knockout to run the wires. Also I had to drill additional screw holes in the back in order to mount to my box. I am rating this as 2 stars for two reasons: - There is a low hum when it is illuminated. - The unit interferes with 5ghz wifi, badly. For context, the light was installed in the closet of a 700 sq ft apartment at its lowest sensitivity setting. Frequency of the unit is stated as 5.8 ghz, but this is still an issue. Anyway, this unit will be returned. Good looking unit and emits nice light. If you don't care about the hum and 5ghz wifi interference then you may like it.

You must disassemble the fixture to install it. They used cheap screws, and they stripped the screw heads when manufactured, so you can't take them apart to install them. What a waste of time!

The unit is stylish and provided the right amount of light for the entryway where it was installed. Easy installation with a little bit of electrical knowledge.
