AMAZING! Just what I had been looking for - a collection of beautiful sounding, stunning and impressive Christmas solos for advanced pianists. The musical language is not complicated, but full enough of little harmonic and textural surprises everywhere to make it consistently interesting and never trite. And for anyone with a solid foundation in virtuoso piano technique, these pieces are not difficult to play. Very rewarding. Thank you, Danny Calhoun!

It is wonderful to discover new Christmas arrangements that are advanced and complex and not like anything else I already have.

After looking high and low for truly advanced hymn arrangements, I am super happy to find this! For classical players, I would place this at an intermediate level. They have everything: key changes, triplets, big complex chords, finger work sections, and more. So far I am finding it quite satisfying.

These arrangements are some of the best I’ve found for advanced pianists. I’m a piano teacher, and while there is a lot of music for intermediate to early advanced pianists to play, it’s difficult to find Christmas music for an advanced player to really sink their teeth into and spend some time learning and working on, instead of just sight reading. Every arrangement is challenging, surprising, and just a sheer delight to play, (although Go Tell It on the Mountain might be my favorite one) and I look forward to next year when I’ll pull it out again and spend more time with these pieces. Cannot recommend this collection highly enough for the accomplished pianist!

Most of these songs are definitely a challenge, but they are original and beautifully written.
