Bought this for my retainer. The case that came with my retainer has breathing holes in it and doesn't hold water at all. Bought this one and after storing my retainer in it overnight with a small amount of water in it makes my retainer seem fresher in the morning with no odor.

You could pay a lot more & do no better. We all know plastic goods probable cost two bits to make but have to cost something at the end.I think the old case (very similar) belonged to one of the kids, free from the orthodontist, & I've been using it a decade. So, here's hoping mine amortizes as well as it did.

I had one like this when I had my braces removed and given retainer. But then it broke (after over 2 years, not bad!) so it was time for a new one. I really like this brand because it is shaped like teeth/jaw, and it has no holes on top or bottom so I’m able to soak my retainers in the cleaner tablet with water during the day. For travel it has been sturdy and protected my retainers.
