this unit is by far the most advanced one - it looks exactly like the controller you normally get with the cheap strip you buy online - but surprisingly works stable with advertised 5Amps current draw (I am using two custom cut 5m strips - around 8 m total). The remote is NOT IR, so you don't get any IR receiver that has to stick out anywhere, range is good (within couple of rooms away still can change colors), and the most important thing - color switching is smooth and beautiful (unlike the controller supplied with the strip the color changes take some time while while you can observe a nice and smooth transition). My teenager installed an app and started flashing the lights while playing favorite song - I guess it's easy to use then. It also seems to remember the last set after power loss. Super hyped - writing this review 5 minutes after initial installation...

Works well with those left over lengths of 12V 5050 RGB led lights. Two ends so you can go in different directions. The Brightness depends on the LED strip you are using, but the colors seem to be better than the original controller.

I purchased this to replace the last 1-2 Splitter that failed within 6 months of purchase (I originally purchased it as part of the 65.6ft LED light kit). The original 1-2 Splitter fails to stay connected to the wireless network for more than 24 hours. This 1-2 Splitter has been plugged in for less than 15 minutesand it will not stay on white light for more than 3 seconds. The lights go to black, then flash green a few times followed by the flash red, green, blue over and over, which means it lost connection. While connected to the app, the light strip can be any other color BUT white. The remote changes the color to green when I press the 'red' button and light changes to red when I press the 'green' button. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app 3 times, I have restarted my router 1 time and restarted my phone 1 time. Also, the new 1-2 Splitter will lose connection to the wireless network in less than 24 hours, and require you to reconfigure/reconnect it to the wireless network. The issue is with NexLux's 1-2 splitter. If you are considering purchasing the 65.6ft LED light kit...DON'T! Pick up two 32ft LED light kits, the 1-2 Splitter WILL fail in short order, or NOT work at all once installed. The NexLux 32ft LED light kit I have NEVER has problems with the app OR remote, and I purchased it over 3 years ago.Update 06 FEB 2022; After a few days of operation, the new 1-2 Splitter I purchased has needed to be reconfigured to my WiFi network 3 times and is now only responding to red light or off. This is exactly what the first 1-2 Splitter did after about 6 months. STAY AWAY FROM ANY KIT THAT HAS A 1-2 SPLITTER! The 1-2 Splitter is absolute garbage!

Finally one that works correctlyI had ordered other controllers and they failed fast.This one has a higher wattage capability.So...It works well

I had some lights I bought on here, and our TV remote kept interfering with the lights, so we got this wifi box to fix that. Thankfully the app still works fine, and I like how I have a lot more control than I did with just a little remote.BUT! The remote with this new box stopped working after a day. It's not a huge deal, but it can be a pain to find and use your phone just to shut the lights off.Another plus is that this pushes just a little more power than the box that came with the lights, so the lights are just a little brighter now.

This is a great product because it allows you to onboard without their app or a cloud dependency. Using kirillsimin/magichue I was able to bring it onto my IoT network without any hiccups and configure in Home Assistant.
