Great for fruit and veggie carving
A very nice set of small knives that work great for food carving. They are very sharp of really easy to hone before each use. The blades are high carbon steel (which I prefer) and the handles are ebony which is a hardwood. They are on the smaller side so you can get good detail but are pretty easy to handle even if you have larger hands. I love using these to cut zig zag patterns on tomatoes then covering them with fresh basil, salt, pepper and mozzarella cheese then baking them as appetizers. I even find myself using them to quickly slice mushrooms and olives. This is a very nice set.

Good fruit carving knives
Usually, when I want to peel a fruit, I use a ceramic peeler. It is safer to use and also wastes less food because it slices evenly under the skin. However, when Amazon offered me to review these small fruit carving knives, I did not resist the temptation because they were very good looking and appeared of a good quality.Let's see how they fare in real life. Here is what I like about the GAINSCOME Fruit Carving Knives 2 PCS SET High-carbon steel Sharp Main Knife Ebony Handle:- They are full tang and appear very sturdy.- They are fairly sharp out of the box.- They are very pointy (be careful with that).- They are proudly made in China. For once... I am stating this because I am tired of the Chinese manufacturing bashes. The Chinese industry has nothing to be ashamed of. I may be more reluctant with food or hygiene products but for knives, I own many made in Shenzhen and they are great.- They come with their individual plastic sheath.- They are giftable (the box is well made).- They come with a small sharpening wet stone 1000 grit.- Fairly expensive wood was used (Ebony wood)- They are fairly pricedHere is what I like much less:- Contrarily to the claims, they are not balanced at all. A balanced knife should stay balanced on your finger just between the handle and the blade... In this case, the handle is much heavier. I do not have a real issue with it since the knives are not going to fatigue my hand but I do not like misleading claims. In conclusion:I may still take my peeler out prior to using these knives because it is still very convenient but it does not make me like these knives less. I will use those for some precise cutting, for instance, tomato shaping or when I need a very pointy knife.4 stars.
