SPSS BASICS : TECHNIQUES FOR A FIRST COURSE IN STATISTICS, 6TH EDN

I was terrified of taking the statistics class required for my psychology degree. I have always been terrible at math, and was convinced I was going to fail. Although a lot of my success may have been because of my excellent professor, I believe I got an A in the class with a lot of credit to this book. It is incredibly detailed without being needlessly complicated or wordy. It also includes a huge amount of pictures showing you what your SPSS should look like. If you follow the directions in the book, it is impossible to fail.

I'm finishing my Doctorate this year and am knee deep in my residency project that requires use of SPSS. This was an easy to use step-by-step guide that not only helped me to understand how to use SPSS, but also was an awesome statistics review.

The book itself is alright. What I don't like is the software you have to purchase with it has the smallest package of 6 months and it costs an additional $40. The publisher should give you an access code that is 17-18 weeks long to use with the college class most people are buying this book for.

This book is a MUST HAVE for someone who knows essentially nothing about SPSS. It has super clear examples, step by step directions, and the author includes pictures to show what each step looks like. I'm SUPER happy I got this book; it's helped my Stats grade out a lot! :)
