no storage, but cord is only 20 in. long

No, it does not have to be tilted. Sometimes it seems to just be easier to puncture to get the can started then it is level again.

Q: Does opener leave a smooth edge?

I am in complete agreement with the first answer. It's a very jagged edge and being a diabetic I'm not looking to have my hand cut up. The two that said it does cut smooth must be Hamilton Beach employees.

I've this one at least 10 probbaly closer to 15 years and the small plastic piece that holds the lid magnet finally broke. We tried re-gluing and it did not hold up. I am buying another one. I love it. I use the large jar opener a lot and have used the small water bottle lid opener near the base.
