A lot more than I expected
There are a ton of features on this radio. I've only set it up to test it as it's going into the RV this spring. Made an FM contact to Florida from Vermont on my first try with an A99, 36FT up. The report was strong signal, very loud and clear. Locals say its just as loud as my RCI. I didn't want to spend much on my RV base set up, because other gear is needed. For about $365.00 I did radio, antenna. I have the mast poles and 75' of coax. Guess this will do the trick for the mobile base set-up with the Sirio Tornado that just arrived as well. 73's from unit 415 in Vermont

Great sounding transmitter, I have literally talked all over the world
UPDATE: i have had this radio for a year now and it has not failed me once, still works great ...I really like this Quad 6. It's been a great radio no problems, until today, I moved it from on top of the dash to under it, and when I unplugged the external speaker, the .ain't speaker did not come on. I haven't opened it up to see if the jack is bad it speaker came undone from the board, but it works with the ext speaker. So I dealing with it... Side note, I've had it a month and this is the first time the ext sp was Un plugged. The speaker is the only reason for 4 stars if I could do half stars it'd be 4.5 stars.Update, 23, Sept, 2023, the jack started working, so I'll give it 5 stars again, it is still a great radio, I make 10m contacts across the pond daily, barefoot.

You can DX with this Radio
First, to set the bar, this is not a Yaesu or some other high end mobile rig that can output 100W. This is, however, a decent radio that can be put into your vehicle for around $260 plus an antenna (~$50). I am using a CB anntenna (Little Wil) where I cut the radial for <1:2:1 resonance at 28.500 +/- 300Khz. It works great. My first contact was in my driveway (Central Florida) to a station in Portugal (>4,000 miles) on SSB. The operator gave me a 5/5 signal report and said I sounded good. I was impressed that I could do that. With that said, I can also use this for 10M POTA activations spontaneously if I find myself in a park since there is no setup. As a side note, and for emergencies only, this radio is capable of 11M. I cut another radial for 11M and keep it in the truck in case I ever need to change over. Simple setscrew and drop it in. Can change bands in less that 2 minutes and the radio can be put into a channel mode for all 40 channels. All simple button pushes. After using the radio, I gave iut 4 stars mainly due to the VFO and knob/menu setup. The VFO clicks between increments which is annoying and to speed up or slow down tuning, you have to advance through each digit as it only advances forward then back to least digit. You can overcome that somewhat by holding the up or down button on the microphone for fast tunning and leaving knob on second digit to hone in on the signalThe Clarifier has to be turned on or off via menu setting, and when it do have it on, you cannot see the frequency offset.... just turning it to hear better audio. Never sure if I should link the Transmitter and Reciever to the offset...All said, I really like this for what I paid. I figured I'd put it in the truck to "play" with since 10M is suppose to be very good for the next few years with the increased solar activity. I'd recomment a buy if you have similar desires and don't want to spend alot for a mobile capability.Side note: this would also be a good radio for a newly Licensed Technician operator to make a foray into the HF world without much invested. Can use this for SSB/Phone on the 28.300 to 28.500 section of 10M very simply. 60W PEP is enough to reach out there when the band is hot.

EXCELLENT transceiver. Five DX contacts the first day
I LOVE this little transceiver! At 42 watts average I was not sure it would be good for DX. With the skip active on 10 meters I got 5 DX contacts right away, including Curacao, New Zealand, Argentina, S. Cook Islands, Brazil, and Australia. Clear audio, excellent receive function. This would be good for mobile operation too, as it is small in size.

Very easy to operate
Great radio, just wish it came with a fan on the back, gets a little warm on longer chats with people!
