hi i have 390 duke, will these fit on that ?

Yes these grips should fit on a Duke 390 no problem. If you have bar end caps or bar weights you may need to trim off the ends with a razor blade but that's not a big deal. I have bark busters on my KTM so I always need to trim off the ends. They will fit and they will look cool!

why is one grip harder than the other?

One grip is thicker than the other to make room for the throttle tube that goes over the right bar, that may make it fill harder when they are off the bike, once they are on the bike they should feel the same. If it dues not feel the same on the bike, that does not sound right
