Bought this to match my new surface pro 9 which is also black. I also purchased the pen separately and this laptop case has the storage space to keep the pen safe while also charging it at the same time. The pen holder securely hides the pen against the surface so can't fall out. Great keyboard with great quality feeling keys when typing.

Premises: the keyboard is well made. The underside is made out of some kind of cloth, which protects the entire tablet when closed but if it gets dirty, it’s hard to clean. The palm rests are made out of alcantara, which I personally don’t like (but others do), and I know that time is unforgiving to this material. The keycaps do have a layer of rubber on them, and you know how things go with rubber.The typing experience is actually surprisingly good, if you’re going to use the keyboard in the “lifted” mode. If you prefer to use the keyboard in the “flattened” mode, the keyboard is all wobbly and totally unsatisfying to write on. The backlit is great.The touchpad is a classic mechanical one, and it’s just as good as it can be.There are two things that were just annoying about this keyboard:When you’re using it in “lifted” mode, the keyboard sits exactly on the tablet bottom bezel. Touching the app bar will inevitably touch the keyboard. This is good looking, but, well.. a little uncomfortable.The other downside is that when you flip the entire thing over the tablet to use the surface as a tablet, the connector on the bottom side of the tablet will interfere with your wrist and thus with the writing process, making it *really* annoying. I have to detach the keyboard to get comfy in writing.Last two points: the pen slot works as intended, and remember that when the keyboard is flipped to use the surface in tablet mode the keyboard and its fragile materials are completely exposed.

This is my kid's school surface and the keyboard stopped working. I got a full refund in 15 minutes. This was purchased 18 months ago.

The Microsoft Surface keyboard performs as it should.The keyboard connects immediately it magnets make contact.The backlit keyboard lights up automatically in poor or no light conditions.My only disappointment being this keyboard doesn't have a fingerprint scanner.

Used daily very happy

No light , stopped working after just a year , left me with carrying a keyboard around . Nothing happened just stopped working one day .

Had to return as it didn't work. Even if it did work please note this must be changed separately to your Surface Pro.A refund was issues right away with no quibble! Hence the 3 star for the seller
