Does a lot well
I've tried all of the features except the slicing disc and the bread dough hook. Everything performed well and sometimes above my expectations which were pretty high. My daughter is able to make and take smoothies creating very little mess. Making snow from ice cubes is fun and fast, but it is super LOUD.I chopped shallots which came out in pieces all of about the same size. I was a little disappointed in the shredder disc. I used it for cheese. Some pieces of cheese weren't shredded. But it isn't unusual for cheese to be hard to process. Clean up is a dream. I put all the pieces in the dishwasher with only a rinse out and everything comes out clean. There are lots of pieces to this product. I had to rearrange things in my kitchen to make room for a large bucket to put everything into. It would be very easy for me to lose a part otherwise.

Spend a few extra dollars for this model - it is worth it
I love this blender. I bought one for home last year. This year I bought the same one, but what appears to be the updated version to the same one, for my office. It has also sold itself when I have company over around cooking time. One witness of this blender pulverizing anything you put into it, and you know you have the best blender ever made. (yes, that is my opinion and my opinion only). This thing laughs at blending ice. It feels like it was designed to blend solid rocks into sand. (no, I do not suggest you use it for that). My old blender was only used once in a while when I needed a large volume of blending. Having the small blending cups have turned this into a practical all day use blender. Excellent for mixing protein shakes and vegetable health drinks.Personal suggestion: I do not use the dishwasher on the large mixing pitcher. This pitcher is comprised of security parts and built in mechanisms that I prefer to handwash. I am concerned that the high heat of the dishwasher could somehow speed up the wear and tear on these parts. I do use the dishwasher on the large pitcher blending blades, which you must be extremely cautious when handling. I have not cut myself; however, they are sharp blades, and I am sure it would be easy to slice a hand accidentally. Being this cautious with the pitcher is just my personal precaution, not something that I think you are asked to follow by ninja. This review is only for this exact model ninja. I hope your experience is as perfect as mine has been if you decide to make this purchase.Thank you for reading my review.

Great machine with zero replacement parts
I purchased this as a gift for my fiancé about 2 years ago. She once told me “don’t ever buy me a present that plugs in unless it is asked for” I didn’t listen. This gift was a jackpot find as we both loved it and used it all the time for many different things.Unfortunately after just less than 2 years I have discovered our favorite kitchen appliance does not have replacement parts! The blender cracked over time (see photos) and for the life of me I cannot find a replacement pitcher with or without lid.The model we have is a BL681A which is actually 1500w not 1200w as listed. I can find virtually all pitchers to replace all models of the ninja kitchen system except the 1500w BL681A. It is not even available on the Ninja website. This would be a slam dunk 5 star review if we were able to get a replacement pitcher. The machine really does it all and has been our most used kitchen appliance. We are now extremely disappointed that we have to part ways with our ninja simply due to replacement parts not being available.

We are IN LOVE with our new Ninja Mega 1500 Watts Kitchen System !!! Our NN1500 Smoothies are like drinking ICE CREAM !!!!
We are so IN LOVE with our new Ninja Mega 1500 Watts Kitchen System and we haven't even tried to use it to make dough or for any kind of food processing yet. Why are we IN LOVE? Let me explain it this way. We had an old outfit we bought in Germany a LONG TIME AGO. It was great and had all kinds of gizmos and gadgets that you could attach to do things like immersion blending in a hot pot of soup, chopping small amounts of veggies or nuts, and blending smoothies. We thought it was great, until we tasted a smoothie made by our friends Nutri Ninja 1500. Our "smoothies" with our old machine just weren't smooth. We ended up with a mixture of everything from chunks to little pieces of ice. Now switch to our new SMOOTHIE with the Nutri Ninja Mega 1500 and we are talking MILKSHAKE !!!!!!!! SMOOTHIE !!!! I kid you NOT. You can mix almost anything and ice and it is so SMOOTH and DREAMY that it is like drinking ice cream. SERIOUSLY !!!! I am on a Low Carb diet and my husband, who is almost 70 and works out 3 times a week, is trying to maintain and continue to build muscle. We both drink Protein Smoothies, for different reasons, and that was the driving reason for purchasing this machine. WE ARE SO HAPPY WITH OUR PURCHASE! The difference it makes in our Protein Smoothies is like the difference between night and day. We use to sort of force ourselves to drink as much of the old dry-tasting protein/ice chuck gunk as possible. With the TASTE LIKE ICE CREAM VERSION OF OUR NEW SMOOTHIES, we are scraping the bottom of the glass for every last drop. In addition to our usual Quest Vanilla Protein Powder with Frozen Fruit and Quest Chocolate Protein Powder, we found a Big Train Mocha Low Carb/High Protein here on Amazon (the Vanilla is great, too) and life is FANTASTIC around our place. Mix a scoop of that Mocha stuff with about 2 - 4 ounces of heavy cream or milk or even the fake, lo fat cream (less and lo fat for me, more with real cream for him) with about 6 large ice cubes (or as many as you prefer) a little water (I like mind a bit thinner). The result will MAKE YOU VERY HAPPY!!!! With the Quest Vanilla Protein Powder, a bit of fake, low fat cream, ice, and a couple of drops (and I do mean one or two) of Capella's concentrated flavorings in Peaches and Cream or Blueberry or Pina Colada or whatever flavor you like (also available on Amazon) and you'll think you just went through Dairy Queen Drive Thru Heaven. Our friend likes to use the Capella's Apple Pie flavoring. Whatever floats your smoothie. Is the machine loud? Did you really expect that you can produce ice CREAM from big chucks of ice is one minute with a quiet little motor? Do you really think you can fly from New York to LA in three hours, with a quiet little jet? Hell yeah it's loud. You won't care. If noise really bothers you, put in some earplugs and, yes, you can get some right here at Amazon. If you live in a condo, i wouldn't recommend using it after hours much or your neighbors may think the space shuttle landed in the vicinity. Or you could Invite them over for smoothies or, better yet, margarita's and they won't care. Give 'em a set of their own ear plugs. Watch out though, they' may end up asking for a key to your place or ask you to just leave the door open so they can drop in for a quick mix. From the sound of things around here lately, we should have signed a sales agreement with Nutri Ninja. This week, it sounds like 6A has even caved and bought his own.The only problem with the Nutri Ninja so far is that my husband wants me and our friends to stop making smoothies long enough for him to make a batch of his famous Jalapeno Cheese Bread. Our NN1500 came with a dough hook. I can't have any so I don't care, but he is excited about "going from the Ninja to the bread machine in less that 10 minutes". I'll have him update this post after he tries out the dough hook. And I'll let you know how I like the food processor for prepping stir fry, chicken salad, and other low carb goodies. You will be very happy when you buy this machine. You'll wonder, like we did, why you didn't but one a long time ago.UPDATE: GREAT. Now my husband has a new ice cream machine. He's using the Nutri Ninja to mix and somehow cool his custard before he loads it into the ice cream freezer. I have only TASTED 2 spoons of it, but I will say that there is NO Ben and Jerry's or Haagen Dazs or Blue Bell or Cold Stone or local, home town creamery that will beat this stuff. I don't know what he's doing with that Nutri Ninja but this is the best ice cream he has EVER made and he has made some good stuff in the past. Honestly, I think he could win a contest. If he didn't use the lock on our freezer, my low carb diet would be OVER. He said not to worry. He's using the Nutri Ninja to invent a LOW CARB Sea Salt - Carmel ice cream just for me! Gawd, I love that man!
