Not fit for purpose
These press buttons collapse when you rivet them to the fabric. I started a job with old stock, every one went in perfectly. When they ran out I ordered this item (on the right in the photo). Every one collapsed. I bought some others (pictured left). Every one worked perfectly. You can see from the photo why right hand ones don’t work - they are poorly designed. The ridges running outwards from the central stump in the button on the left add strength. They also cause the stump to split evenly when stuck with the fitting tool, and roll back neatly over the backing plate, gripping the fabric. The right hand stumps keel over to one side and do not grab the backing plate. Every one I tried went wrong. One might assume it was one’s own lack of skill - but as is often the case cheap materials let you down. Applying press buttons to fabric is easy but make sure you buy a good product.I think the manufacturer should discontinue these.

Not the best quality
Bought to mend a suitcase handle but we're no good, when I think about it these are overpriced at £4.99 for what they are and the quality is not the best
