It’s little, but it’s not a toy
Has all the fine qualities of bigger Addi circular knitting machines and is so cute! I use it to make golf club head covers for my grandson and others. In school colors. In golf club colors for friends who are members. In fun colors and textures because - why not? This little gem does it all.

This is a pretty cool little unit
This is pretty easy to work with. The instructions are very simple and the option of being able to not only do rounds, but to have it to stop to do "flat panels" is a major plus. You have to work with it to get used to how it operates and discover the speed for the yarn, so you don't drop any stiches. It does a nice job, all the stiches are even and with the flip of the little switch on the side, you can do the flat (square) panels. That will take a touch of practice and learning the individual machines speed for the type of yarn you will be using. I have both the King size and this one, of which they both operate the exact same. I highly recommend this for your projects, but I also want to stress, you must practice with it and get the feel of how it operates, before you make any final projects. As with everything, you must experiment with it before you have exactly what you hope to accomplish with it. The small one is large enough to do scarves or baby caps and small flat panels, but if you want to use this, straight from the knitter, for an adult size knitted hat, it won't fit an adult head with this diameter. What you can do is, run the lengths through for an adult head and then put them side by side to crochet or knit together. The King size Addi, this will most definitely fit an adult head and still give you some flexibility with your cap. It is also fabulous for making sleeves to sweaters, if you want to do sweaters, with the sleeves fitting the arms with a loose or roomy fit. This small unit will do very well for socks, baby clothes (sleeves) or multi-tube scarves. These units are not cheap made and the quality of the design is well thought out. But, once again, before you make a final judgement on how it works, play with it for a bit to see what the individual unit does and determine the speed to turn the handle, as the thickness of your yarn will make all the difference on the speed of turning it. It does take patience to get the hang of it, but once you do, you will use it all the time. I also use the flat bed knitters, that you mount to a table and slide back and forth, so I'm experienced in what works and doesn't with these kinds of knitting units. Patience is the key to make it work exactly the way you want it too. Thanks.

Worth the money
Very compact size. I can knit so much faster now with little to no dropped stitches. Beautiful design, easy to use and the instructions were amazingly written.

Unusable. Splits yarn, drops stitches, causes tucks. Every time! Every yarn!
Unusable. No matter what I did, it splits yarn, causes tucks, or drop stitches. I have a Sentro 48, and while it’s tricky, at least I can get usable fabric. I tried various videos and tricks, and nothing worked. I’m doing a big yarn bombing project for a music festival for June 21; I don’t have time to bother with an unusable machine. I feel bad for kids using this. I realize these machines are geared for young crafters, but even with parental guidance they’re going to be so frustrated. Even a toy should work. Returned!

Returned the first machine, but second one is great
The first machine I received gave me a lot of trouble, always on the same needle, so I returned it. I used the replacement machine tonight and it was totally different; working really well. It's definitely more sensitive than the "king size" but it's still very easy to use and does the job. I'm excited about all the projects I can do with it now that it's actually working. So, if you get a machine that's giving you a lot of trouble, you may want to consider returning it and getting a new one. Now, I love both my Addi machines.
