Long and Fun Journey
This is my first product/customer service review that I have done in many, many years. However, this being my first, high powered ebike build, wanted to share my experience with NB Power's product and customer service. As with most upcoming technology, there were a number of "hiccups" with this build, that have been troubleshot and resolved. This was a learning experience for me, as these builds do take a certain level of mechanical knowledge to complete properly. NB Power's excellent customer department was there for me every step of the way. Amazing service. I purchased this 3000 watt kit from NB Power and a 72 volt triangle battery from another manufacture in order to save a few dollars. A big mistake on my part.... battery not compatible with kit. 2 weeks later, a battery recommended by NB Power was purchased and works/worked flawlessly. After new battery was received and installed, a "30H" error appeared on the display screen, with no hub motor function. I reached out to NB Power's customer service department, and after several trouble shooting procedures, it was determined that the controller was at fault. With constant contact from Anne regarding shipping information, a new controller was sent, received and installed. New controller did the trick with power to the rear hub, but display would not read MPH or any other viable information. Again, with the assistance of NB Powers' technical department, we were able to troubleshoot the issue and problem was resolved. I felt that Anne and the technical support team shared the same passion of finishing the build as I did. Even with the 12 hour time difference, many of my questions were answered after I assume their technical department was closed for the day. Amazing and first class customer service. As stated in previous reviews, this 3000 watt kit has surprising strong torque and speed. Will knock you off on your back if you don't show the throttle respect. Personally haven't taken the PAS past 5 (out of 9). Have reached speeds to 35 MPH in no time. I do feel this bike is capable of 50 MPH... way to fast for me. In conclusion, some time and finances were involved for me. I didn't mind at all knowing that this could be a challenge. NB Power was excellent from start to finish. They provided out standing communication and backed their product with confidence and pride.

BETTER THAN ADVERTISED
Bad Ass Kit (topgun) BUT NOT FOR THE MECHANICALLY TIMID. You have to be able to think. Pros: When you get this product, you realize it's better than expected. This is a high performance product! Cons: There were no assembly instructions at all. Fortunately, I've been an aircraft mechanic 20 years, so I was able to install everything and even splice my old ebike throttle and brakes into this installation. It worked❗It was still a pain to figure everything out. The whole job took me about 6 hours (taking my time). Advice: be very careful when handling the controller wires (the power terminals) after connecting the battery, because it will shock you or spark even if you have disconnected the battery. Also, once everything is connected, you MUST turn on the display unit and go to system settings (double press "M"), and change the voltage to the voltage of your battery. My bike was sluggish at first, but after changing the settings, it was quick as fk.

Fast, great support
Fantastic! I was coming from 4 generations of 2 stroke bike kits and finally decided to try electric. I even used my electric bike frame for this build (built in gas tank!). Just wow...no comparison at all! First, it makes my bike silent again! And there is no resistance, no noise, and very agile again. The weight is really nicely centered, and the torque makes it wheelie on command. It is SUPER fast (definitely 55+), torquey and fun! I have to say that support is also fantastic, I had one issue with my UKC1 after about 650miles and they got me a replacement fast. Even though they are overseas they are very responsive on whatsapp. I also got some spoke replacements (over 1000 miles on it) but after looking at them very closely this winter I've found that the rim is still very straight, so I'm good to go this season. FYI, I have the 20A battery and get a solid 50+ miles per charge when I average about 25mph. The amount of boosts definitely impacts distance, like any electric vehicle, so ymmv. And it takes my battery about 5 hours to recharge when I'm at about 20-25% left. I'm looking forward to putting another 1000+ miles on it this summer!

Motor: AMAZING. Kit: Ehhhhhh...
The motor is amazing, it has a great solid feel and it's extremely fast and torquey. However the kit just leaves the feeling of unnecessary bloat meant to justify a $600 price tag. If I could have bought the motor by itself I would have had plenty of money to buy what I actually wanted. I could have got a VESC controller, some electric brake levers and a throttle. I don't need a built in lock feature with two key fobs because no one's going to steal a bike that looks like it has a bomb strapped to it on an extremely populated college campus. I don't need a pedal assist sensor because I'm doing an entirely chainless build with no pedals. I don't want a terrible controller that looks entirely different from the one that's in the lackluster diagram, which is labeled different than the one in the preview photos. A terrible controller that is barely programmable, the fact the description has the audacity to call it "smart" is laughable. A terrible controller where you can't even change the acceleration mode from duty cycle to amperage so I don't really every time I try to come out of a stop. A terrible controller that doesn't even take full advantage of the current that can be pushed through through the motor (which is probably why there isn't a connection for the motor's temperature sensor). The motor is great, it feels like amazing quality. It has a temperature sensors and hall sensors, two sets of each in fact. If you can find the motor by itself, and you have a decent knowledge of how to build EVs, buy it and order everything separately. If this is your first time building an EV, sure it's okay and it is nice to receive everything in one package.

Update: MORE TRASH THAN I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT.
It would have been nice if they just used the waterproof Juliet connectors. The set up would go way smoother without that yellow block. I opted to use soldering heat shrink to do the connection to the motor from the controller. I just wish they weren't being cheap or they aren't top notch at details, whatever it is I'd suggest finding a company that does have it. Update: so I'm in the middle of actually installing it I realized what another review was talking about. They mentioned filing something and it turned out they needed to file the fork on their bike down because one of the axles is wider than the 135mm measurements listed. Good thing I too own a file so I can make it fit I just want anyone else to be aware of this issue. So in conclusion the flaws are that width of the axle discrepancy and the poor choice in wire components. SECOND UPDATE: THIS THING IS GARBAGE. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT IN THE STREET TODAY BECAUSE THE DAMN THROTTLE DECIDED IT WANTED TO CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN I WASNT TWISTING THE THROTTLE AND ACTIVELY BRAKING! I HAD TO POWER IT OFF TO STOP IT. I TOLD A FRIEND WHO WORKS IN BIKES AND HE TOLD ME HIS BUDDY HAD THE SAME CONTROLLER AND PROBLEM. SO CLEARLY IT WASN'T JUST ME. IF ONLY I WERE ABLE TO HOOK UP MY BRAKE CUTOFF SWITCHES TO THE CONTROLLER BUT THESE CHEAP BASTARDS DIDNT PUT THE WATERPROOF CONNECTORS THAT ALLOW ME TO DO THAT. IM DEBATING ON GETTING A COMPLETE REFUND AND DEALING WITH NOT HAVING A MOTOR FOR HOWEVER LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO GET A QUALITY KIT FROM A REPUTABLE SELLER OR SHAMING THESE FOLKS INTO GIVING ME THE CONTROLLER THAY WOULD WORK PROPERLY ON THE MOTOR WHICH SEEMS FINE BTW. THE MOTOR THEY COULDVE SOLD ME SEPARATE AND SPARED EVERYONE THE TROUBLE OF COMPLAINING WHEN THIS ONE EVENTUALLY SCREWS UP. THIRD UPDATE: I HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE HALL SENSOR FAILING AND TRIED SWITCHING TO THE BACKUP BUT IT NEVER WORKED. TOOK THE WHEEL APART AND THE BOTH HALL SENSOR SETUPS HAVE A PROBLEM. THE ONE SENSOR SIDE NEVER WORKED FROM THE BEGINNING BECAUSE ONE OF THE SLOTS WAS TOO NARROW AND THE OTHER WHEN I TRIED TO PUT IN A REPLACEMENT WAS TOO LOOSE AND THE SENSORS THEY SENT TO REPLACE MY FIRST ONE BOTH FAILED. IDK IF THEY ARE DAMAGED BUT I WASNT GETTING THE 4.8V READING TO THE LOOSE SLOT. TRIED RUNNING THE HALL TEST ONLY TO GET A FAIL WITHIN A FEW ROTATIONS. SO I CANT TRUST THE MOTOR AND WASTED 36 DOLLARS ON TWO SENSORS TO GET SCREWED UP SOON AS I REINSTALLED THEM. IF SOMEONE GAVE THESE FOLKS A GOOD REVIEW THEY MUST HAVE BEEN LUCKY NOT TO GET THE GARBAGE I GOT. I HOPE THEY ARE READING THIS REVIEW THAT IVE HAD TO UPDATE TWICE AND HAVENT HAD THIS HALF A YEAR. SHOP ELSEWHERE. IM GONNA EXPLORE MY REFUND/RETURN OPTIONS. THEY CAN HAVE THIS CRAP

This kit is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for
The kit is an excellent fit for someone who wants to have a high top speed and get there fast! Be warned that the controller is 80A continuous so it will pull closer to 5-6,000watts! My 72v19.2ah battery gets very warm when I run the bike hard. But that is my fault for not buying the battery that the seller offered (I got the battery first and should have just paid the shipping to return it to buy theirs) Use the include torque arm and consider getting a second one. It has so much torque I almost spun it out of the dropout when I first installed it (Didnt make sure everything was tight enough) I hit a top speed of 55mph but I am almost certain that is a limitation of my battery. Get the highest quality tires you can find. I have a Schwalbe Super Moto-X on it and even then it is barely up to the task of this beast of a hubmotor! I would definitely recommend this kit to a friend and find the seller to be very easy to work with

You should buy it
Install was fairly simple. Labels of the wiring isn’t super clear, but with the two diagrams they give you, it’s enough to piece things together. The alarm / lock feature doesn’t seem to work on mine. I have a pretty serious bike lock on mine so it’s not a huge issue. This kit makes a mad monster of a bike… I tried to let my fiancé ride it, but she went to test the throttle while standing next to it and the bike did a back flip. She’s no longer allowed to try it. I have a 72v / 20ah / 80a triangle battery and the bike screams with that setup. One thing I wish I knew earlier was that the code to unlock the advanced setting is “1801” Overall love the kit. You should buy it.

Yes! 100% Yes. Surpassed Expectations
Might not be the most "legal" thing to install onto a bike but it is AMAZING! I thought people were over reacting a bit when they said they were doing wheelies, but no. This thing will put you flat on your back if you are not ready for it. If you try to start from any level other then 1 prepare to end up on your back. I added this to a cheep Walmart bike I bought to build my own E-Bike because for the cost of "pre-built" bikes I wanted something that goes a decent speed. I paired it with a 72V 30ah battery. All the other parts it comes with is nice, the screen is nice, I like how the brake handles kill motor power. The twist throttle is very nice compared to the thumb throttle. I live in a very hilly neighborhood and have not gotten it on nice flat road yet but I have gotten it up to 47mph being a 160lb rider 5' 10". I did add Statorade and a Heatsink to the motor before ever running it so I can't comment on how it runs without that, but the motor stays cool with those two add-ons. One thing I love is not having to worry about cars trying to pass me if they never catch up to me.... Power Up hill: 9/10 Starting Power/Torque: 20/10 Install Process: 8/10 Controller Bag: 5/10 (Could be larger for all the wires.) Control Screen: 9/10 (Easy To Read Info) Battery Usage: 6/10 (This Motor Loves Drinking Power, may add a second battery) Shipping Time From Order - Delivery: 1/10 (Worth The Wait Through) Overall highly recommend if you want an E-Bike that does what it should and feel like you got your monies worth.
