Amazon Basics Portable Foldable Photo Studio Box with LED Lights for Product Photography, 25 x 30 x 25 Inches, White Backdrop, Black

[UPDATE] Added some photo's taken with my 6dMkII and developed in Adobe Raw. [UPDATE] I just finished shooting about 80 different products professionally using a full lighting set up and a white backdrop. There are some products I will need to shoot where I have no choice but to go to the vendor's location, which I was dreading (still kind of am). I had purchased a Godox studio box which seemed nice but was unfortunately dead on arrival and was much more of a, set it up once and leave it set up kind of rig. It was portable but not with the kind of ease this one gives you. One thing I really worried about with this set-up was the lighting. Based on some of the photo's I've seen posted i was really worried that the lighting was going to be dim and sub-par. That is not the case at all. I just shot 2 pics with my Pixel 1 and they came out great. Another complaint I see is that the backdrop is creased. Yes. It is creased. But I also see a lot of photos where people are not using it correctly. If you want a seamless backdrop you need to pull it out a bit so that the corner is sloped, not angled. When you do this and use the right exposure settings the seam almost disappears completely. The set up is amazingly quick and easy. I was honestly kind of surprised at how well this thing is contained. You just undo the velcro side straps and lift it up, the bottom drops and things just kinda slide into place. A few flap adjustments, then pull the adapter out of the top pocket, plug it in and you're ready to go. As far as I can tell so far there are 5 different options for shooting angles, 1 top hole, 3 front small holes or fully open in the front. The led panels are already diffused from their plastic covers. For portable, on the go product shots, this thing is next level. For a home studio, it isn't bad, there are definitely better options for a permanent-semi permanent rig. But I will be carrying this around to my clients when they can't bring gear to me (along with an extension cord). I can't speak to the durability because I just got it. It looks well built but also looks like it'd be easy to break. Especially since the lights are built in. I'd recommend care when transporting it but I doubt anyone's gunna be frisbee tossing their studio so I probably dont need to warn you. Unless you do want to frisbee toss your studio, then... pics or it didn't happen. Anyway, Super happy with my purchase. If you need a portable product shot solution or just something you can pack away when done, this is a great solution.

Upon receiving my delivery of the AmazonBasics Portable Studio, within the first five minutes I was shooting excellent product photos. I'm not at all exaggerating - the set-up was incredibly easy-breezy, and the light emitted inside the box is perfectly balanced and positioned. I read some of the reviews posted by others that mentions the crease in the backdrop (or sweep) but I am not at all bothered by this, as it is incredibly subtle and can be easily edited out if it really bothers you that much. The backdrop is manufactured of a heavier vinyl-ish material - it seems this probably allows the backdrop to remain smooth and mostly wrinkle-free when the studio is folded up stored. For reference, I should mention that I had previously purchased the following items as my product photo studio solution: LimoStudio 16" Folding Photo Box Tent LED Light Table Top Photography Studio Kit StudioPRO 675W Triple Translucent Umbrella Continuous Bright Lighting Kit for Photo, Photography, Film & Video Studio - (Set of 3) Cowboystudio 33 inch Photography Studio Translucent Shoot Through White Umbrella KAEZI 45 Watt Studio Grow Light Bulb Compact Fluorescent 5500K CFL Day Light Bulb (45 Watts) My former set-up (the LimoStudio tent) came with four sweeps (white, black, blue and red), which I initially thought would be useful, but in the end, I only ever used the white sweep, which collected dirt very easily and was made of a cheap material that I found impossible to clean. The LED lights that came with that studio did not diffuse correctly and basically emitted a spotlight effect from whichever angle they were positioned. I then purchased the StudioPro umbrella kit to solve this problem - these took up a ton of floor space, and in my two-room apartment, such a thing was exceedingly inconvenient. Even after all of the additional items I purchased and the incessant tweaking I did, I was not happy with the quality of my product photos, and my studio set-up had taken over my life. Ultimately, my experience, spending hours with all of these former components proved nothing but frustrating, and futile - they didn't come close to the ease of use and the immediate-high-quality output yielded within the first few minutes using the AmazonBasics studio. The example photos I posted reflect a quick-and-dirty, unedited, no-filter test I did using my Microsoft Lumia 735 8.2 megapixel camera phone. I have a DSLR that I use for product photos, but this shows how decent the results are out of the box, using super-basic equipment. I'm beyond satisfied with this purchase - it's everything I need, and I honestly wish I'd purchased it first, before sinking the same amount of money into separate components that ultimately didn't measure up.

Absolutely one of the best investments to date! Hands down. I've been an eBay and Amazon, ETSY seller for quite some time. The one thing I struggle with is getting good pictures with good lighting. I posted a picture of a ring listed that we were NEVER able to capture the stone characteristics (of course we could have with a more complex set up). I unfolded the unit, popped it open and snapped a picture with my iPhone 7 Plus and took the first picture that every caught the ring the way I needed it to be seen. Amazing to us. The booth proves the perfect amount of white light without the shadows. I heard some people in an eBay Facebook group I follow mention that they have built there own, or gotten another version with detached lights, etc. The difference with this photo booth is that it is truly all-in-one and it collapses for beautiful portability that can be taken anywhere there is a flat surface and an outlet for a plug. It will definitely increase my own productivity which will increase listings which will hopefully increase sales. If online sales is your lifeblood - or part of it - this is money well spent and one of the little investments you will make that will pay off quickly. Taking pictures are for some part of the drudgery of the job. This portable photo studio is worth it's weight in gold. Great job Amazon! One little issue I had was finding the manual. Probably just me, but I had to watch a YouTube video to see how the unit was opened and moreso, plugged in. There is a zipper compartment at the top that holds the AC adapter and manual. I thought it was an opening for taking pictures from the top. It is that ... it has a hold to shoot pictures from above. But it also neatly houses the manual and AC cord. A little sticker on the outside saying "unzip me first" or something to point to the manual would be extremely helpful! Thanks for a great product that solves a sticky problem.

Easy to set up and fold down to store. I was able to set it up on top of my jewelry-making supply cabinet, and since I didn't need to rig up lights, etc. it enables me to have a portable product photo studio in one relatively small corner of my workshop. I can't emphasize enough how helpful that is. Now with the cons: it has one light strip across the front ceiling and one along the left side. I read a lot of reviews about this product that mention this and the fact that one side of the box is always in shadow. It's true, and I've tried every camera setting I know of to counter that, even used photo-enhancing software, but nothing ever really works 100%. I purchased a Trekoo 2 LED Light strip set to compensate. Amazon sells them for $15.99, and I highly recommend you just go ahead and buy it at the same time you buy this lightbox. It's basically two LED light strips with a connecting cord between them, and then USB connector cables at one end for a power source. They have peel & stick backs, so I just placed them side by side in the exact spot the light strip on the opposite side is located. I ran the cord through the opening in the top of the box, and sat a power strip with 3 USB ports on top of the box. This also enables me to keep the lightbox plugged in at all times (it has no on/off switch) and I can now turn the lightbox on & off using the on/off switch located on the power strip. I have only taken a few test photos with the addition of the new LED light strip, but so far, I really like what I see. I am photographing jewelry, which can be very tricky unless you have really good lighting, and this seems to be a good solution thus far. Yes, I have the same issue with the crease in the backdrop, but I am shooting in macro from directly overhead, and it really isn't that much of an issue for me. I would recommend possibly taking it out and seeing if it could be smoothed out by hanging it up and *lightly* warming it with a heat gun. The backdrop material is like a heavy blackout vinyl window shade though, so direct heat would obviously be a bad idea. You can however, hang a nylon backdrop over it to cover the crease. I have not had any problems with the box collapsing, etc. and I have been using it for a year, and do occasionally lay lightweight items on top of it. Overall, I would say it's a good product, but it could use an extra built in light on the unlit side, an on/off switch so you don't have to unplug it to turn it off, and a better pack & ship solution for the backdrop that eliminates the inevitable crease.

This is good product for what it is including the price point (when it's on sale). It's a little wider and taller than other light boxes. Keep in mind, there's no diffuser on the LEDs, so shinier or more reflective items will show the reflection of the LEDs or even the inside of the light box itself. The temperature or the color (pure white to amber) of the LEDs is not adjustable but it's not a dealbreaker for me as the purpose of the product was geared more towards being able to document items you're trying to sell online. White is the only backdrop color although you could probably DIY it to place other colored backdrops instead. It works pretty well for most items not larger than a basketball if you care about having an unobstructed background. Setup is relatively easy and there's multiple flaps and even an overhead port for you to take pictures at different angles. The overall weight isn't too heavy and is easy to transport or store once folded up. Recommended.

I bought this to do some photos for my small business and this is the first time I used a photobooth. The picture is of a glass coffee carafe and some stainless steel barware that I laser engraved the gift recipients initials on. The both was really easy to setup. It literally pops open with no effort and everything goes into place. The actual photo backdrop is of a nicer material that is velcroed to the back. You just lay it out and the crease that would appear at the seem disappears. The light is already in place and bright. There is onboard storage for the lightcord which has a transformer similar to a laptop battery. The only thing that took me a moment was to find out where to plug the power cord into the booth. It's on the outside, located on the top of the back left corner. I was working in my garage after dark and did not see it at first. This is because it has a black velcro dust cover that folds open to keep the connector clear. Folding it up is the reverse of setting it up. I especially like that there is no zippers to mess with. There were several velcro straps located in just the right places and which makes it very intuitive. Folds flat and the handle is sturdy. I also like the size, because I wanted something a little larger than many of the smaller ones I looked at for only a slightly lower price. The book in the picture is a coffee table size book along with the other items. There was plenty of room to arrange everything and the sides of the booth do not appear in the photo. While I've never bought a photobooth before, this is one of the few products I've purchased in the last couple of years that exceeded my expectations.

I guess the important thing to know is the value, sturdiness, stability, and ease of use are all good on this one and I would buy it again if I needed to. A few things that might be important to you. The quality is so much better than the flimsy twisty white thin ones that we have normally gotten and available all over amazon. (I think you might know the ones I mean). I did buy the background that is in these photos (not on amazon) as it comes with a standard white background, but it was easy to attach with velcro (bought separately here at amazon), but you would not need another background if you are willing to go white and the quality of the white is good.. Good lighting, with about a 6 or 8 ft cord, however, if you notice on the photos I've shared, if you are shooting a very shiny object, you likely would need a filter to get the glare out completely. I'm happy enough without using a filter. If an item is not so shiny, the lighting is just fine. I was slightly hesitant at first as it is more expensive than some, but very happy I opted to pay a bit extra.

Let me start off by saying this item is Portable and seams to be built good. First issue I have with this item is, It only has two sets of LED lights. One on the left side and one on the front. This causes a shadow on the right side of the item when taking photos from the front of the light box. If you take the photo from the top (Nice feature) then you get a shadow on the top of the item if it is laying down. This light box is built sturdy but it is slightly difficult setting it up. When trying to set up you have to push down on the inside and pull up at the same time that way the support falls down to hold up it's walls. It has a feature where you can take pictures from the top. This is a great feature, the issue is the zipper portion. The zipper gets caught on the inside plastic causing the zipper to get stuck (This is where the plug and adapter is stored). My overall take on this product is that it lacks lighting. The shadows cause me more problems than anything else mentioned in this review. I believe I am going to add another LED light to it and that should take care of the shadow issues. Thank you

Creo que vale bastante la pena invertir en una caja de luz como esta, sus materiales son top y el resultado es igual de increíble, puedes colocar cualquier fondo de una manera muy sencilla y adicionar un poco de luz sin problemas. Todo aquel que se dedica a la foto de producto debería tener el suyo, lo amé.

Extraordinario!! Me ahorra mucho tiempo en la edición de imágenes o en apps para quitar el fondo y dejarlo en un blanco limpio. Yo tomo las fotos con el celular con una app especial para fotografía que simula una reflex y me ha funcionado muy bien porque la edición es mínima. Lo único malo es que se calienta mucho y la tengo que estar desconectando directo de la corriente porque no tiene un swicth on/off y el fondo blanco se arruga mucho en las orillas cada vez que se dobla para guardar no tiene las dimensiones exactas para protegerse, pero en general es de lo mejor que he encontrado.

Quería esperarme un par de meses para poder dar una reseña Honesta: Vendedor - Altamente Recomendable Envío - En tiempo y Forma Producto - Muy fácil de usar, de excelente tamaño, precio relación calidad buena y muy útil. He sacado increíbles fotos con él para empresas e incluso para mí. Claro que la edición siempre es necesaria para que el fondo quede perfectamente blanco. sin embargo tengo 3 INCONVENIENTES QUE PODRÉ ACÁ ABAJO. PROS - Tamaño perfecto, Espacio suficiente, Fácil de montar y guardar, Fácil de Usar, Cómodo, Útil, Ligero, Portable, Buen material, CONTRAS - A pesar de que la iluminación es buena, no es suficiente ya que al solo estar en posición de "L" deja dos lados sin luz y esto genera un poco de sombra en los productos. CONTRAS - A pasar de que lo he cuidado mejor que a mí mismo no es tan resistente, una de las luces tiene un falso contacto que a veces llega a ser muy molesto. CONTRAS - Una vez que lo conectas haz tus fotos rápido, se tiene a calentar algo y eso puede perjudicar tu equipo. Es solo recomendación, me gustaría que tuviera un botón de prendido y apagado aunque estuviera conectado. EN GENERAL, considero que es un producto que toda persona que se dedique a tomar fotografía en fondo blanco debería tener. Sí es cierto que no es perfecto, pero de todos los que tienen en Amazon, estoy convencido de que es el mejor. En general me gustó mucho el producto, lo pedí el 2 y llegó el 4, perfecto para unas fotos urgentes que tenía pendientes, fácil de armar e instalar, las luces led se calientan pero por el funcionamiento normal, no se sobre calientan ni nada. Me agradó el producto y lo recomiendo. Llegó en perfecto estado y la calidad en relación al precio es excelente.

Sin lugar a duda, es de lo último y de más grande calidad que he comprado en Amazon, me fascinó esta caja de luz, en mi primer ejercicio, logré hacer unas tomas increíbles de los productos que comercializo. Había antes comprado otra, y la regresé con la esperanza de obtener algo mejor, pero mejor es poco para el resultado que he obtenido de esta increíble caja de luz. No soy profesional, pero sin temor, me atrevo a recomendarles esta belleza, no hay sombras marcadas, tiene una iluminación perfecta a dos ángulos. ¡PERFECTA CAJA DE LUZ! y eso que hice tomas con una Nikon viejita.
