Very nice set. Good quality. At first I was disappointed in the small size of the tiles but after lifting the case I realized if they were bigger it would be harder to lift and carry.

This is a beautiful set and carrying case. It was a little pricey, which is the reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The shipping box was dinged up, but thankfully, the wooden carrying case inside was not damaged. This is the first time we’ve played Mahjong, and we struggled with the directions at first, so we watched a tutorial on YouTube to help us. Once we understood the setup and rules, we had a great time playing.

Really surprised at the quality for the price! The case is beautiful, and makes a fabulous gift. The set really seems much more expensive than it is, and would be a good thing to keep in the gift closet to have on hand when you need a present last minute. Works for kids, adults, friends, etc. I’m buying two more for exactly that purpose.

By some combination of the shape (weirdly concave on top) and/or texture, these pieces are really hard to hold. Within 30 seconds of opening I dropped 3 pieces on a hardwood floor (from about 3 feet high) and one of them split in half. I appreciate the wood design here, but if it comes with such poor usability and durability, I'd rather have plastic pieces.For the price, the board itself is nice, although I haven't owned it long enough to comment on durability. It does not have any latch, which I'd count as a drawback but in this price range the latch would probably not be very good anyway so I dunno...
