NIOSH N95 Respirator Plus - Large - 30 pcs/pack

Only N95 mask we have found that is said to destroy virus’ as such its the only one we use to protect our family as we take covid very seriously. Not interested in playing Russian rulet with long covid.Its comfortable and seals well when properly adjusted (more on that below)We are average size 5’8” and 5’ and the large works well on both our face contours of pronounced and non pronounced nose bridges. CORRECTION this mask was way bigger than the one from lowes, it is not a good fit for either of us, not to mention the kids - looking to return it.Can’t find kid sizes (Respokare please list them on amazon now that you have made them) so we use below trick #1 to make them fit but really would like to find where we can buy their new kid sized mask.The bad:a) they are pricy so we need to make them last - issue isb) i don’t know how fast the viral protection deteriorates, they are individually sealed so that is nice, but does that mean they have a short life? UPDATE the 30 pack does not individually seal each mask c) the label of not reusing to avoid cross contamination is not something most households could afford.We had our doubts on the legitemacy of the amazon seller as the name is not an exact match for the company nor is the address in the same state, BUT fortunately they list with a clickable button the authorized sellers and the amazon one brought us here. Originally we bought 5 boxes at lowes, that box looked more authentic than the 30 pack box that looked fake, but again this is where their own site brings us to buy on amazon.The bad:1) It has a bad smell initially, but that goes away fairly fast or we all got used to it but it’s not been a problem.2) the straps break off very easily, usually within 3-5 uses!!!! This is totally not acceptable! See solution belowHints:1) cut each strap in the middle, then tie the ends on each side together so it now becomes the type that straps around your ears - way more comfortable and does not stress the joint between the strap and the mask so it last a long time!!! Its much easier to put on and off. Win all around as we would bot be buying this mask if it only lasted 5ish times as it would cost a tiny fortune!2) If you are a man with stubble, shave every day as the hard facial hairs start to destroy the inner side fabric and that then starts to become a very annoying itch (any mask does that to me)Stay safe and help reduce the production of variants.

I've been in dentistry since 1978, before HIV was known. We were always taught that infection control was of the utmost importance. I've had many face masks, not as efficient as the current masks available but fortunately never been infected with anything from a patient. Sometimes masks with the loops that go above your head and neck fail. The solution for me was a drop of Crazy Glue, (wait a few hours prior to using due to the smell), on the band attachment and I've not had any failures. I have a good size head and face and find the large masks to be big, although the fit is good, maybe next time medium.

No one, including me, likes wearing masks however, if I’m going to wear one I want it to do the job. This mask fits better than any I’ve used. It has a piece of foam over the nose to provide a superior seal and it extends well back on the cheeks. A good seal along with its multilayer design means it will do its job of reducing aerosol spread both exhaling and inhaling.

Strong smell made it very unpleasant to wear.

Secure fit without hurting your ears. You can wear this for long periods of time.

The difficulty of obtaining a genuinely large mask of this type is great. It works, but is uncomfortable and needs to be larger.

I like these masks because they fit tight but not too tight.

These are the real deal N95 masks that were impossible to come by in the early stages of the global pandemic. And unless you were an essential worker, there was really no need to have one of these. But now that they’re more readily available, I have no qualms keeping a small stock of these for when I really need one. For example, I plan to use these whenever I’m in a high risk scenario like traveling on an airplane, visiting a family member in a nursing home, and any time I’m in a larger group indoors like at a concert.The double strap is fine, though I find it makes things slightly more complicated. But if we’re talking about the best way to keep the mask secure and sealed to your face, I understand why it’s there. I got the large size because I’m an adult male and have been completely frustrated by the small size of most KN95 masks. The ear straps can often be so short that it literally doesn’t fit on my face. But these are made for an adult head. Can’t express enough how much of a difference the strap size makes.This type of mask gives me peace of mind knowing that I’m doing the absolute most that I can to protect myself and others when I’m forced to be in higher risk situations. Make sure you get your correct size, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by these N95 masks.
