Breaking news: Video game obsessed boy reads book voluntarily!
We got this book for my soon-to-be stepson, who just turned 8, for his birthday as part of a "prank kit" which contained lots of different items that he can use to prank people. He was very intrigued by this book. He likes that it is his "secret" book with a lock on it (that falls off somewhat easily, I might add), and tries to make sure that his sister won't see what's in the book. I got this for him just figuring, what the heck, and assuming that he wouldn't really be very interested in a book, based on other times that we've gotten books for him. Imagine our surprise when we saw him sitting on the couch, not playing video games, but with a book! He was flipping through the pages and reading about the pranks. No, it's not a long book or anything, and there are lots of pictures, but it is a book, darn it, and he was enjoying himself reading it, which is great. Maybe we should put locks on all of his books. :)

Good for budding pranksters
Pranking gold for my 8 1/2 yr old son, who is developing the art of pranks and his own unique 'pranking' style. Basically, this is a guide to pranks for beginners and includes a "fake ketchup splat" that can be removed from the cover and added to a prank 'toolkit.' Aside from prank ideas, there are also jokes and riddles and some 'rules of pranking.' The rules are pretty much common sense--don't be mean, don't be destructive, respect other people's feelings and their property, etc.. I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. The prank ideas are largely good and old school, but require parental oversight and guidance. For example, the old 'vaseline on the door handle trick' or 'freezing the underwear' or a 'gummy worm in a casserole' are harmless. Coating doorknobs with honey/molasses or putting live bugs in something...those are misguided as they have consequences that kids don't get, but adults will. And done to the wrong person, at the wrong time or in the wrong environment...the prank won't and shouldn't be well-received.Used correctly and with adult guidance, this book is especially for young boys who crave making mischief and love jokes. This book helps channels that desire in a healthy way.

Great book for kids...especially boys.
Full of pranks, jokes and activities to do. My son LOVES the "fake ketchup packet" that is included in the front of the book and can't WAIT to try it out on his little sisters bed! LOL The jokes are quite silly in MY opinion (as an ADULT), however, both my younger kids think they are HILARIOUS! Great book for kids ages 8-11! 5 stars! :)

It's okay...for 5-7 year olds.
Very basic content. I think this book would be okay for 5-7 year olds. My 8 year old will enjoy it just for the simple fact that pranks can be humorous. I probably wouldn't have bought this had I flipped through it prior to ordering.

Great pranks for kids.
My daughter pours over this book plotting her hilariously evil deeds. She is 8 and the perfect age for this stuff.

Cool book
This is a pretty cool book. My 11-year-old nephew immediately began reading it, and was having a blast trying out his jokes on us. Well worth the money!
