No, Carhartt Men's Thermal Dip gloves (style A700) are not waterproof. If you want waterproof, try Carhartt Men's Thermal WB Nitrile grip gloves (style A690) sold on Amazon (search "Carhartt A690"). Thermal WB Nitrile grip gloves have the same features of the Thermal Dip glove with added waterproof, breathable, windproof inserts to keep hands dry while working with wet items.

Carhartt Men's Thermal Dip gloves have a thermal lining to protect hands from getting cold while working on wet or dry surfaces.

Q: are they easy to manuver gate latches,fine work or keep taking them off?

Gate latches would be fine, a 1/4” screw with nut, not sure, a 1/2” bolt is doable as long as you purchase the correct size so any looseness is minimal. They are great driving gloves too.
