While Chromecasts and Fire TV's serve the ability to mirror your screen, they don't quite work as well as the traditional cable plugged into the bottom of your device. The HDMI cable must be used with some sort of power source (this is where the USB side comes in) and the other end needs to attach to a lightning port on an Apple device such as an iPod, iPhone or iPad (not the newest iPad Pro's as they only support Type-C). After connecting, simply allow 'trust to the device' on the iPhone and its all set up! Even better is that this supports MHL and once recognised, Apple automatically hides sensitive information away from the larger display such as passwords. When using the cable, the phone acts more as a remote than simply mirroring the screen. For YouTube, videos will not play simultaneously on both devices but instead the phone is used as a remote to skip ads and pause. The cable will display at the original device aspect ratio which is perfectly fine for an iPhone 7 (as it has a 16:9 ratio) but if you connect an iPad, be aware of some black bars on the sides but this is normal for any casting device, not only this cable.All in all, its a simple device to use and serves the job extremely well which is comparable to Apple's official dongle. The braided cables give a long-lasting and premium feel to the device and the metal connectors and connector shells add to this positively. Exactly what I was looking for - I started to think such cables don’t exist! There are currently renovations going on so my TV satellite stopped working so I had to temporarily look for another way of watching the TV, and this was a perfect solution. But where it was mostly helpful was when I wanted to play games from my phone with my controller, and this served the perfect way as there was no latency (or delay from phone to display) at all! The setup was super easy and it only took a click of one button from my iPhone 11. Also, what was really convenient was the power source WHICH was the usb, so I didn’t have as much cables laying around as both HDMI and USB Plugged into the TV. Just to add, the overall finish of the product was in high quality.

Once I got passed the firmware update on the HDMI cable cable it was a breeze , the instruction page is not concise now it doesn't work only used twice

We use this for Zoom calls with friends, guitar teachers, pilates, etc. It works pretty well giving us video on our TV. Simple to set up and use. Only gripe is that ipad does not charge whilst plugged in.

I purchased this cable to use with my iPhone and the app Dplay. The product itself is decent enough. It’s well made and does exactly what it says “on the tin”. The problem I’ve incurred is the cable doesn’t like the app Dplay. I can use the cable with Youtube etc and have no issues. When I use Dplay the app crashes and goes back to the home screen. It’s not all bad news though because if I use the dplay website Instead of the app then I have no issues and I can watch “salvage hunters” to my hearts content.

Really easy to use, just plug usb and hdmi into TV and lightning into iPhone and I can stream my iPhone to the TV. Haven’t had any issues and works seamlessly for me.

Works very well and quality of picture and sound is very good. There is a small delay between the ipad and the TV but it's good enough for us to use in Zoom sessions

Worked fine for just 3 days. Cable kept slipping out my phone anyway due to the poor quality. Stopped working all together and sent item back but they said not recieved a refund .what a suprise!
