Q: Is it a a pack of 10??

Yes, I have always received 10 in the pack, whatever colour I've ordered. All packs of 10 bags have been supplied in perfect condition, with the exception of one in the set of the green bags, which wasn't stitched for about 7"/17.5cm down one vertical seam. (I didn't bother returning it). I've ordered bags in red, blue, black, green and cream. They're very useful. I've always ordered the biggest size - it's worked well for shopping. I've also used the bags to put gifts in - better than a bit of wrapping paper - the recipient can then reuse the bag (if you have kids - buy the cream bags, then you can decorate the bag with fabric markers).

Q: What is the GSM of the bags?

I believe these bags are 5 oz which equates to roughly 170gsm. Although strong, they feel quite thin. I must admit for 70p extra per bag I prefer the same suppliers heavier, 10oz, boxed bottom version.

Q: is this suitable for a college bag sturdy wise?

It's strong but pretty light weight & it's flat (doesn't have a boxed bottom but that's easy enough to do yourself). I'm not sure how it would stand up to carrying a lot of heavy books.
