I have a sensitive skin and soaps available in the nearby grocery aren't good for me. I don't want to forever ask my niece to send my soap choice, so I considered buying this book and make my own soap. I really have no idea how soaps are made so I learned a great deal of knowledge in this book. Acid plus base is the main formula, listed herein are the best oils and their uses as acid as well as other natural chemicals for better result. Prepare your things and start right away with the soap making 'recipes' found at the end chapter. Though I wish the author to include more 'recipes' and state the expected skin result of each, I had enough to get started.

Soap making is a great hobby. I've tried it recently with my cousin, who is nine years old, and helped pass the time. They didn't turn out perfect by any means, but she loved making it and wants to make more already, even though we made a batch of eleven, which should last us a while.. This guide laid out all of the ingredients we needed and the methods on creating the soap (we used the Cold Process Soap Making Method). All in all, if you are considering on making your own soap, whether you're new to this or need a refresher, buy this book. I'm not entirely sure if there is any other guides needed, but this is a good starter guide.

I want to have a soap business because it is popular here and I want to learn how to make unique soap. I researched about how to make organic soap and I found this book. This book shows the ingredients needed to make organic soaps. I learned the basics on equipment and safety. I also learned the methods for making my own organic soaps. I have fun doing soaps now and I now they will like my organic soap when I sell this to people.

Covers the basics of beginning soap making very well. Author has good recommendations like pre measuring ingredients before making the soap!I also loved the suggestion for recommended clean up.

I'm always on the lookout for more natural and organic products - especially when it comes to what we are using on our body. This book was good guide on the basics of soap making and how we can use the natural properties of herbs and other oils to really benefit our skin. I am particularly looking forward to trying the lemon grass combination. I am going to recommend this book to my sister, because she is totally in to organic products as well.

If you want a beginniner's guide to soap making, go to a website that sells basic soap ingredients, get the melt and pour soap base and read the instructions.

A few more recipes would have been nice to get started. Also a better or clearer explanation of what “trace” is would be great (will have to google or YouTube for clarification)
