Taking picture taking to new heights
It is my personal opinion that three and four hundred dollar tripods are overrated. I also don't understand the love affair nature photographers seem to have with ball heads and gimbals. I used a perfectly serviceable no-name tripod for over a decade until it broke recently, necessitating it's replacement. I use to be embarrassed by the thing, but it slowly became a source of pride over the years when I realized how much money I was saving. The one drawback of that tripod was it's height, which I think is the problem with nearly half the tripods on the market. They are made as though the target market are all dwarfs. So, I am really tickled with this new Xit tripod that can be extended to 80 inches! And it didn't break the bank. I may never need all 80 inches unless I'm standing on the upside of a hill, but I am just enjoying being able to get it to eye level without having to bend over. It is a well designed piece of equipment. The leg locks - one of the more important design features in my opinion - are one of the better types out there. I do wish companies would standardize the quick release plates. This one is just slightly smaller than the plate on my old tripod, so I am not able to use the old plate. It would be nice to have a spare. In my experience, the three-way pan head is much more suitable for tracking birds in flight - something I use it for all the time - than a ball head (or a $500 dollar gimbal). The one shortcoming is that the handle is, well, a little short. It isn't a deal breaker, but it would have been nice if it was slightly longer which would make the action a little smoother when tracking birds. Since the length is not limited by how the tripod folds down, there was room in the design to make it a more generous length. Pros knock tripods designed with four leg sections, claiming they are too unstable. I don't find that to be true at all. The foam grips are great for cold weather use also. This is a lot of tripod for the money, in my opinion.

Why buy a $100 + Joby. This is perfect and 1/5 the price. No brainier !!!!!
This is the best budget flexible tripod.I've tried a couple of these cheap flexible tripods and this on is the best one in the budget class that I've tried so far. It's very sturdy, Much better then the octopus tripod that you see everywhere on Amazon, The one that looks exactly like the Joby, The issue I had with that one is that the joints pull apart very easyily. This one is much better, I use it with mirrorless cameras, its perfect for that, you can use it with a DSLR and it works good but I still don't trust setting it up and walking away. But with how sturdy it feels, I say it would hold up good.It comes with an attached ball head and quick release, I wish it came with a spare quick release case it's very small, I'm afraid that I might loose it. I can't complain because of the price. If you're working with a point and shoot, GoPro, Mounting lights or using a mirrorless DSLR then this is perfect for you, no need to buy a Joby that cost 5 times the amount. For something heavier then I would look into getting something that can handle the weight.

Do you know how big is it?
A stable and versatile option for photographers and videographers, the XIT 72 Elite Tripod offers high-quality construction, a quick-release mechanism, and adjustable height for various shooting scenarios. One potential con of the XIT 72 Elite Series Professional Tripod is that it may not be as compact as some other options on the market, which can make it less convenient to transport. However, the sturdiness and versatility provided by this tripod make it a great option for anyone who needs a dependable and functional tripod for their photography or videography needs.

It's worth the price!
I mainly used this tripod stand to take videos using my iPhone. It isn't heavy and can be easily folded back and stored in the bag/pouch it came with. However, the stem got dented and the plastic attached to the revolver handle broke apart.
