It works perfectly, once you've cracked the gotcha.
I wanted it to power some SATA hard drives. Once I figured out that I had to connect 2 pins together on the 24-pin connecter, the unit powered up. If you are using this connecter and plug it into the PC then you don't have this problem.

Power and dead silent, amazing
So I have been using this a few days to power an Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 (ITR IT8728F) mainboard, AMD FX 8350 CPU and an Nvidia 980 TI graphics card under load for video processing and its been both silent and stable, no power cuts or anything. Perfect.
