Q: How do you clean the ports? Will the ports break if removed?

We do not recommend removing the ports. The feeder can be washed with a soft bristled scrub brush and a mild soap and water solution.

Q: What size mealworms work best? .25", .50" or 1"

I don't know if size makes a difference, but the ones in our feeder are approx 1-1 1/2" long purchased at the local farm store in 5# bags as being intended as chicken feed. We have all kinds of birds, not just Eastern Blue Birds, eating them from the feeder, seemingly loving life.
