Version 1 is stiff, yet still a great value for money.
Likes: 18mm was easy to get, two lengths was included, buckle well made, especially the solid tang. Thick strap.Dislike: stiff maybe forming it in a mug of boiling water will accelerate the break inLiked the strap so much I got a Version 2.A great company!

It's Plastic! :(
This strap is very stiff, hard and uncomfortable. It will not improve with time because it is plastic. This is not the rubbery silicone TPU that protects our smartphones. I should have read the reviews and heeded before ordering. A low point for Barton straps which made some good value, well made, attractive and comfortable leather watch straps. The holes are actually spaced too far apart. I could not get a hole selection that was just right, they were too loose or too tight. This material will get brittle and dry rot/break as 80's disposable Swatch and Casio did.

Not the best Barton strap...
I have purchased several Barton silicon straps over the years and have liked them all. However, this tropical-style one isn't soft like the others and is uncomfortable and sharp around the edges. The look is good, but it feels cheap and anything sharp rubbing on it leaves a mark. I won't be buying any more of these.

Hard band, needs to be shaped to be comfortable
UPDATE: After shaping it more to conform to my wrist shape, the band is much more comfortable. It's very durable and holds up well. Updated rating, knocking a star off as band needs some work to wear well. The band is hard like others have mentioned. I even tried to break it in, but it still leaves a very deep imprint on my wrist. The holes are spaced further apart, so it could just be a bad fit. All things considered, the strap is way too firm, making it uncomfortable to wear throughout the day.

Great Tropic Band - Excellent Value-Super Comfortable
This is a very nice tropical band. I like it because it is a little heavier than the typical tropical band and only reduces 2mm at the buckle whereas most tropical bands reduce much more. Some people complain about the flexibility but I do not see it as an issue, it is very comfortable and flexible. The best feature is has is the locking looper on the strap keeper. When you put the strap on the end locks into the strap keeper and doesn't come out all day long like with other straps. In my opinion for $10 this is better than some straps I have paid $50 for. I put it on my Favre-Leuba Harpoon Raider that had an uncomfortable OEM strap, but with this fits like a dream. ( I changed out the buckle with a gun metal buckle for $9)

Nice enough to wear with just about any watch
I specifically ordered this brand because they included two different sized end pieces which is a game changer for people with smaller wrists, small one perfectly fit my 6.75" wrist. I was unsure of the fit and finish would be nice enough to wear with a higher end watch but was pretty impressed when it showed up. It seems like it is made of a good quality soft rubber with a little bit of a shine to it instead of a cheap silicone, the strap is very comfortable and light weight. The buckle looks flimsy wasn't finished the best but it is easily swapped out.

Hit or Miss on Comfort (Color or Manufacturing Lot?)
I have a couple of these bands (black and gray), and there is a significant comfort difference between them. I don't know if it that's due to a different process for the colors, or if it's just variability in manufacture. The black band is fine to wear; the gray one is intolerable.BB is up front that this band uses TPU plastic, not FKM or natural rubber common in more expensive versions of the Tropic band. And the silicone BB uses in their other bands is presumably too soft to enable them to reproduce the fine Tropic weave patterns.Given those constraints, the black version I have is fine. That band is pliable enough to wear comfortably, even if it isn't up to the more luxurious standards of a real Tropic. BB gets extra credit for including two strap lengths, as the traditional 130/80mm sizing of Tropic bands is too much for my small (6") wrists. My major complaint with the black version is the keepers. Mine actually had two of the locking keepers instead of one plain keeper and one locking keeper, making it virtually impossible to thread. There is no locking slot for the inner keeper. A few minutes with a razor knife fixed that problem. Really, though, there's no need for a locking keeper at all on this band. The stiffer material, plus the serrated edges that act as a ratchet, guarantee that the band is *not* going to come loose. With the black band effectively getting 3 stars, I thought the price was good enough to get a second color. And this time time the result was very disappointing. The gray band I received is incredibly stiff. So much so that I consider it unwearable. For what it's worth, they got the keepers right: one plain and one locking. But that doesn't really matter since I won't be wearing this band at all. Gray band gets a single star: so my overall review is 2 stars. As I noted at the start, I don't know if the difference in stiffness is attributable to the different colors, or if it's just variability in the manufacturing process. But I think it explains why some reviewers find the band unwearable yet others think it's fine.

Perfectly flexible, great vintage style tropic strap at a great price.
I really don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about the strap being too striff and that they have to "wear it in". It's perfectly flexible right from the start. I'm very happy with the quality and spot on vintage tropic look. I especially appreciate how like with all their rubber straps they incude an extra shorter end length which is perfect for my smaller wrist. The quick release spring bars are also a nice convenience. Barton never disappoints.

Do not buy unless you like stiff uncomfortable tropical straps.
I just put this on my Seiko Turtle and instantly regretted my purchase. I will never end up using this strap! It is the worst Tropical strap I have purchased to date. I have two other companies Tropical straps and have liked wearing them so I decided to buy a few more in different colors that would compliment some of my different colored watches... Having purchased a couple of Barton Silicone straps I had no concern the any of their other products would be any less in quality, but these Tropic straps are horrendous. I question if their summer interns were in charge of this project. They are too thick and stiff. There is no flex. You will have to wear it loser than is comfortable or if it's snug it will hurt because there is no give.I hate this product. If you purchase one of these straps after reading this review you are nuts. You have been warned.

No es muy flexible
Esta muy duro y poco flexible es más para uso rudo. Yo compre este por que anteriormente había comprado el de silicón y me encanto su suavidad me gusta más uno que dice que es la versión 2, es más caro pero más cómodo.

Buena calidad
The media could not be loaded.
