Hassle free plug & play, immediately recognized on both ends between a 4k projector and my new laptop. Also tried it between the same laptop and an older Panasonic Plasma TV, that combination also worked perfectly. No issues inserting the cables.There was a shipping problem, likely not the sellers fault, looked like someone else's repackaged freight damaged Amazon return. The seller took care of the problem very quickly, politely, and to my complete satisfaction... recommended!

When using this, my monitor turns off and on at random, maybe its the connection so the monitor doesnt "turn off" but the screen goes black and then connects again repeatedly without any obvious cause

I have the super ultra wide Samsung Odyssey monitor, and even the Apple dongle would not let me use it with a MacBook Pro through HDMI, only through display port and I had two other computers I wanted to have hooked up to it and not have to switch around the cable every time. After unsuccessfully trying a couple other different hdmi to usb-c cables and dongles, I tried this one and it worked perfectly right away.

I got the adapter this weekend and I wanted to watch the NFL through my Chromebook. Plugged the it in to my TV and WOW the picture quality is better than the screen on my Chromebook. I might not ever take it off.

Sometimes, when I plug this adapter into my MacBook, the screen will not get detected. Or, it gets detected and I only see noise on my screen.Quite regularly, after a wake from sleep, the screen would either stay black or constantly flicker. (Or, again, turn into just noise. Up until I had this adapter I never saw HDMI turn into snow/noise patterns)Otherwise, the adapter functions as promised, you might just have to unplug and re-plug it whenever it has a hiccup. This m makes the adapter useless to me, as my desk setup doesn't exactly make the adapter easy to reach.

Gets the job done, I can stream movies from my Mac to my 86" LG TV in 4k.

Just like the first one we bought this second one stopped working.Save your money.
