Very comfortable on the wrist, easy setup and usability!
Great negative display digital ... looks big ... it is big, but wears much smaller than it looks because most of the size is in its width. Very comfortable on my 7.5" left wrist, it wears like it's not even there. I changed out the battery as soon as I got it just to baseline it, but very easy to do, and even easier to set. Display is very clear, anytime of the day, and at night the dedicated side Indiglo button (crown) makes it super legible, love it. Like it so much I'm looking for the positive display version of it to have in my daily rotation ... fits right in with the Casio, G-Shocks, Citizen, Seiko, et al in the mix. Highly recommend this unique Timex design ... A+++

Great outdoor/medical watch
Update, 2 years later: Still in love with this watch. Until this weekend, no scratches of the face. I was teaching an National Cave Rescue Commission Orientation to Cave Rescue class this past weekend, and when in the cave, one of the students who was supposed to be doing vital signs didn't have a watch so I loaned him mine. Unfortunately, I got separated from him and he wore it during the carryout, and unlike me didn't have cuffs that closed over the watch, so it got a few scratches. Nothing all that severe, and I guess this is about as bad a test as you can have of a watch face's durability, but I've decided to keep the existing one for rougher use and get a new one for everyday wear. I just got this to replace a 15-20 year old Timex Expedition watch that was supposed to be 100m water resistant but died after diving to just 5 meters. At first I chalked this up to seals getting old, but then I also realized that when I had the battery replaced, the watch place said that this would damage the waterproofing. There is no reason for a digital watch to be round, I thought (my old one was) so why not get a rectangular one? I wear a Time Expedition as my everyday watch unless I have to dress up. And "everyday" for me includes clearing trails, disaster response, and mountain and cave rescue. The important good things about this watch, to me, are as follows. (1) Easy to read in bad conditions (or if you have poor eyesight). From top to bottom this is the same size as a normal round watch, but it's half again as wide. The numbers are half again as big as on a round digital watch. The Indiglo makes it easy to see at night (press the center right small button to make it light up for a second or so). (2) Easy to set. Timex "Easy-Set" means no need for any manual. All four buttons are clearly labeled; just press and hold Set (top left) to get into Set Mode and just follow the instructions. (3) Comfortable on the wrist. I have small bones, and even on my wrist, this big watch is comfortable. For my old round Timex Expedition, I traded in the OEM wrist band for a nylon one. This has a great band on it. It's soft, wide (which means comfortable) and quite secure. It seems pretty tough. It has a free loop (free ring) that has a little tooth in it that will stick into one of the same holes that the buckle tongue goes into. This means you can slide it to the end of the strap and it will stay right there. Brilliant design! (4) The top left has a sort of digital second hand... enough to count in 15- or 30-second intervals for checking a pulse or respirations. (I'm a physician so that's important to me.) If there is anything to not like about this watch, there are two things that concern me. First, the crystal is acrylic (thanks to those who replied to my question about this) and easier to scratch than a "mineral glass" crystal. (I've yet to see a "vegetable glass" crystal, but an "animal glass" crystal of Gorilla Glass would be ideal.) Second, when I've taken similar watches to a local watch place to get a new battery put in, they say that it's not waterproof any more. I wonder if it would be worth it to send it back for a new crystal and new battery when the battery dies, or if it would be cheaper to just get a new watch. Addendum: I asked about keeping water resistance after changing the battery, and two people answered "take it to a jeweler" but after browsing online comments about this option, I disagree. When my battery dies, I emal [email protected] or call 1-800-448-4639 to send it back to Timex. I would like the seals to be replaced if damaged so it stays waterproof, and local jewelers don't have access to the seals for unusual watches like this.

Great Watch with a major flaw
I've owned this watch for almost a year now and it's a great watch with one terrible liability: the ACRYLIC CRYSTAL/LENS. The negative display is better than G-Shock, I have sent one back because it was so hard to read. With this watch the display is so big there is no issue there, you do NOT have to illuminate the display to read the time during the day. My wrist is small and this watch is big but it works. It's very nerdy/bulky/doing too much and I think that's the point. A lot of great features you can turn off if you're like me, time and date please. You can set a second time which I like, my watches run about 10-12 minutes fast. The second time is the true time for mine. You can hold down the light button for several seconds and for eight hours any button you hit will turn on the light. I will only wear this with long sleeves only due to the acrylic face. I may have worn it 30-60 times? over the past year and it has some minor scratches on the last picture (brand new vs. now - last pic) you probably can't see. I would have worn it more during summer months so it could be seen but it would have gotten scratched up more. I'm basically wearing it at work sometimes during the winter. Timex has dropped the ball to compete with Casio you must have mineral glass especially if you're going to charge anywhere from $50 to $100+ for this watch. $50 (about what I paid) it's a buy if you really like it, 100$ no way, no how. I would definitely get the blue camo if it had mineral glass, but I think from now on that's a no go period. No acrylic lens. Other than that it's a great watch and really different. More like 3.5 stars. 4.5 - 5 stars IF it had mineral glass, but it DOESN'T neither do the variants. One of which says it's mineral glass in one place and acrylic in another, but the reviews say it's acrylic. Too bad, what a big step for Timex only to settle for the field goal. This was was supposed to be an eight point touchdown and a hard kick squarely placed in my beloved Casinos middle section but instead it missed and swiped the forearm.

Exactly the vibes I didn't know I needed.
This watch is a game changer for helping me manage my habits. Working in a place where phones and smart watches are expressly forbidden, I always struggled in remembering to drink water, take scheduled breaks, and leave on time. I've owned other digital watches that allow for multiple alarms and a repeating timer, but they always drew too much attention if they went off in meetings or while I was talking to coworkers. THIS watch on the other hand has the perfect balance of functions for my needs: a stopwatch, a standard countdown timer (repeating if needed), a hydration timer (repeating), and 3 alarms. The watch has three modes to alert you: Vibe (vibration), combo (vibe+tone), and Tone (all sounds/no vibe). The vibration is silent enough that others won't hear it, but strong enough to immediately grab your attention. Combo mode makes the watch vibrate about 6 times before it plays any sound. I picked this up over Prime Day, making this an awesome deal, but I honestly want a second one to keep in storage because it's the best digital watch I've found for my needs. I would buy it at full retail, and I would recommend it to all my fellow neurodivergents. Side note: the watch came in all black with an inverted display as opposed to the image where the casing is grey. Looks cool. No complaints.

Simple and tough. Da BEST
Big, easy to read, simple, sturdy and tough. I’ve had it 3 years and I LOVE it. Don’t like my watch acting like a phone. It tells time and date clearly. Has other clock and watch features. Good watch by my book🤙I wear my EVERYDAY AND in the shower. I don’t wear it in the shower anymore cuz I’m wearing the hell out of it and I might need a new one soon. But this is my favorite watch

Big and beautiful. Heavy and manly.
Pretty much everything is the way I like it. PROS: - Simple display and large digits tell me the time and date with just a quick glance at the watch. - The date can be displayed in US or European formats (MM-DD and DD.MM). - The wide strap makes the watch sit very comfortably on my wrist. - The buckle is designed not to create pressure points that, in time, would result in fracturing the resin strap. - The loop that keeps the end of the strap in place has a protrusion on its inner side that prevents it from moving along the strap, thus making the loose end of the strap never go free. - The buttons never press accidentally when I bend my wrist (I have this problem with Casio dress watches). - The greenish INDIGLO illumination lights up just the digits, not the entire display. It looks awesome in the dark. - The beeps (if enabled) are rather low-pitched, which is way less annoying for those around you. - Vibrating alarms can keep your reminders totally private. CONS: - No 'daylight-saving time' feature. When traveling to another time zone, you have to adjust the hour manually, or switch to another pre-set time mode (this watch supports three of them). - Plastic crystal can be easily scratched. Take proper care of the watch. Use, but do not abuse. NEUTRAL: - The 10-slice circle at the upper-left corner of the display is sort of a simple 10-second chronograph/timer that continuously goes in rounds: 10 seconds to fill the circle with slices, then another 10 seconds to clear it.

Great watch - Who would return this watch?
If you enjoy large face on watches then this one is tops. I see many returns on this watch and I am wondering what tha hell is wrong with you buyers. Do you not know what time it is. This watch is big and amazingly functional. One of a kind that a truly recommend.

Very wide watch(!) Not enough features/hipness to justify it's size and bulk. Functionally very good.
summary: not enough additional features and/or not enough style/hipness (not cool enough looking) to justify it's size and bulk. pros: very durable, very good day/night visibility, nice alarm sounds and vibration mode (the screen also flashes for alarms which is cool) details: If you are not into fashion at all then you'll probably think this watch looks awesome but the truth is that it is not actually that cool looking which is true for most if not all Timex watches. It looks kind of cool because of the shape and size and the steel casing but then when you really think about it it's not actually that stylish; it's more functional in shape and design. I was surprised by how wide the watch is its very big especially it's width, which I am fine with but what I realized is two things: if I have this big of a watch I want it to have at least a couple more features other than just timer chronograph time and alarm. This watch does have a hydration mode but it seem to me that it's basically just a timer. So basically it's a big watch with a big screen with not a lot of features.so the two things I don't like are the lack of features and the lack of style. It is a somewhat cool looking watch it looks good it looks very sturdy durable etc. but it's not stylistically particularly cool it's slightly too dorky-marathon-runner-timexy. So if I have this big of a watch I want it to either look really cool which this one doesn't quite make the cut on or have some really cool non-basic features which this one does not have. So that's why I don't want to give it four stars. Also it is a bit heavy so be prepared to have a big slightly weighty watch and again it's very wide. Good stuff: there are really nice features which include vibration, different alarm sounds, multiple alarms, a very good backlight were the numbers light up a greenish blue at night- (super visible; but note that the mode descriptions on the lower and bottom left are imprinted and do not light up which is a little disappointing because it makes it seem more cheap to have it imprinted rather than be digital). the steel casing is nice and the band is very durable rubber. The screen is really big and everything is super visible which is awesome but again, for me, not enough features and not enough style/hipness to justify it's size and bulk.

Nice retro looking watch
I was waiting for it to come back to stock for past 3 years. Finally bought it. I'm happy with the watch. Negative display gives it a premium look. Cons: Display could have been placed little inside so that probability of getting scratches would be low. Display glass looks normal plastic.. easily takes scratches. One thing I'm missing on this watch is Auto electronic lumination. Could have been a added advantage if they give. Thanks Timex .
