Fantasia Materials: 2 lbs Amethyst Large Chunk Rough Stones from Brazil - Grade 1

My son has taken an interest in rocks after finding a lot of pyrite in a slag gravel pile. I got this thinking I might have one or two pieces looking like the picture. There were few aquarium gravel sized pieces, the majority of them were large enough to identify emeralds hiding within(one even had a very small very well defined dark green emerald blazing within), and the creamy green stones were masterpieces. I have used the tiny pieces in a bamboo tip fountain I have, because they were so pretty, too pretty to filter into a discard pile. There were zero bad pieces among them. It's like they took a great big scoop, let the teeny ones filter out, and kept the larger ones. My son had fun cleaning them and "grading" them, according to size and how many could clearly be defined as an emerald. He also had fun with the smaller ones. His cousins, upon seeing them, also took a great interest in them, and are now counting the days until I order another "treasure box" of raw gems. We've even wrapped some of the more unique ones and given them as gifts, and the people LOVED them.The sample piece they put in of one of their other wares has made me decide to get a different one every month from them, as I was so pleased by the generous amount and quality. After two other vendor disappointments with crystals and stones, this was gloriously refreshing. You cannot go wrong getting these.I will say this before you compare it with the picture. I did have to rinse the dust away, as it was literally a scoop from their mine carts, and any and all dust/debris will show up there. Once I did and let them dry, it matched the picture more closely.

I'm just getting started with cabbing and polishing gems, although I've been interested in gemology and geology in general for probably the past 20 years. My first "big" purchase was an emerald ring for my high school graduation and I put a lot of research into things like cut, color, clarity, cost, etc. So I think I'm somewhat knowledgeable about emeralds. Anyway, I bought this intentionally as a mine run because I want to practice my cabbing and polishing but holy cow, I might end up practicing my cutting on some of these. The gray ones I'll cab, but a few of these are somewhat translucent with great color. (Still by no means gem quality). Even before I held these to the light, I could tell I had a good bag. Two of the three biggest pieces were complete duds (I'll hit them with a hammer later and see if I can salvage anything) but I knew that going into this. In fact, I'll probably go buy some pink sapphire now. Please see the photos for my big piece with lots of color, my whole haul with my thumb for comparison (soaked but not properly cleaned), and then a piece that I thought had no color until I held it to the light.

Packaging was not great, came in one bag with no protection. However the crystals were mostly ok. I knew not to expect perfect crystals as these are not polished but raw quartz crystals. Quality is decent, I had a few nice points in the bunch. Not bad for $15.

I'm really impressed with what I received. My package contained 5 large crystals. My son took the largest one because it looks like the "Dark Crystal." In a store, one of these crystals alone would cost $15 easily. I will definitely buy another package. Of the crystals I received, none were shorter than 2" long. The biggest is 3 1/4" long. They are all over 1" wide, one of them is 2" wide.

These are perfectly paired with the macrame crafting I do and the quality is surprisingly good as well! I wasn't expecting much given it was crystals off of amazon but they came well protected and in a zip-lock bag. Overall these worked great for my intended purpose!

Quiet a few of the pieces are very beaten im assuming partially due to the packaging which was a plastic poly bag wrapped in bubble wrap and tightly taped. They are not as large or pretty as the picture shows. I got very few pieces that have nice clarity and are somewhat pretty however i did recieve a few dow and lemurian in the mix so all is well. Im satisfied with my purchase. They may not be the prettiest crystals i own however they are vibrational so they serve their purpose.

Of everything I've ordered from Fantasia Mining, Inc., this is hands down my favorite. The Emerald comes in matrix, but that's to be expected. What I didn't initially suspect however, was the incredible quality of the rough! This was on my first orders, and while it has taken me sometime to get around to commenting on it, I felt compelled because of the amazing gemstones I have found inside this order! I have since ordered more minerals from Fantasia because of the pricing and the great quality I'm getting for the price. I'll continue to shop with Fantasia because of the great quality and the great customer service! Thank you!
