Digital Grill

This is a good grill but keep in mind that I haven't grilled much in my life. Broil, bake, fry but no grill. This is mainly because I have had problems with the chemicals in the charcoal that make it easy to light and I can't, actually don't want to, spend the money for even a cheap gas grill. I looked at a lot of the electric grills and chose this one mainly because it is affordable and had some features I thought might be good and if I didn't like grilling or didn't use it a lot then I wouldn't be out too much. So far I have used it about once or twice a week which is more than I expected to.Pros:I love the sear setting. It heats up to 500 degrees and maintains that for 90 seconds, just enough time to sear it to seal in the juices.It's easy to set the time and temperature so if I get distracted for a few minutes the food doesn't burn or get overcooked.It beeps when the set temperature has been reached so l don't have to guess how long that will take and it beeps when the timer reaches zero. These are good features for someone who is easily distractable.It's non-stick which makes cleaning easier.Cons:Actually I only have one big con. It is difficult to clean which kind of conflicts with the last item on the pros list. The grilling plates are permanently attached to the grill which means they cannot be removed for cleaning. I use a mild dish soap and water mix to break down the left over grease trying to make sure none gets inside the grill. So there is a lot of applying the soap and water mix, then wiping it off before it spills out on the bottom. The top plate does not lay flat so it must be cleaned in the vertical position and the soap/water runs down onto the bottom plate even if I am meticulous about keeping my sponge well wrung out. So all in all it takes me 5 to 10 minutes to clean the grill plates where it would only take a couple of minutes if they were removable.But as I said earlier, I got this to see if I would like grilling. I knew of the cleaning problem so it was not a surprise but it did turn out to be a little more challenging that I thought. For the price it is a great little grill. Now I will save up to get one of the more expensive grills with the removable plates and whiz-bang features. Until then I can happily grill my food when I want to and enjoy.

Has a sear feature which makes it the best indoor grill available!

Excellent in every way except for the cleaning. It would be the ultimate grilling machine if the plates were removable.
