Dark Energy

I appreciate the Afrofutrist credo employed by Jlin. Her combination of electronic music, trap, and experimentalism provides an interesting listen. The reason I'm not sure this stuff is brilliant is most everyone else I've played this for either leaves the room or asks me to turn it down. I would say worth hearing for sure. Then, decide for yourself. This is not dance music. It's head music.

In a word this is fun. Its wacky/goofy but also forward thinking (though not completely ground breaking). I know much has been made about how hip this release is but I say ignore the hype. Just try and dig an urban genre which will undoubtedly refine certain kinds of electronic music. Hopefully, this genre will mutate and evolve -- otherwise, it will be stagnant and then the criticism will be worthy. Until then, enjoy.

Tried to get into these mostly boring snippets of electronic music.its ok but there's way better stuff out there. Try lapalux runism or ash loose for more cutting edge electronic music.

An excellent CD and good service too. Arrived on time and well packaged.JLin is a truly innovative musician and in Dark Energy she blends some really interesting sounds and truly unstoppable rhythms. For me, Black Ballet is a stand out track, opening with a Psychoesque groove and developing this into something sharp but mesmeric. Love it.

トライバルなビートにボイス・カットアップが刻まれるミニマルな作風。率直な感想としては「平凡」。例えばM-10「So High」だと、「アムソー、アムソー、アムソー、ハッハーイ、ッハハーイ」という具合に高速カットアップされた女性ボイスが乗るのだが・・・笑ってしまうぐらい平凡なアプローチだ。トラックに関しても、小奇麗にまとめ過ぎた感が強く、新鮮味は無きに等しい。「本年を担う衝撃盤! ! 」、「デスワルツ」などと期待値を上げてくれた分、ガッカリ落差大きめ。これを聴いて驚くリスナーの音楽遍歴が知りたい。もはやイージーリスニングに聞こえる。
