Eigentlich sollte ich mehr Sterne vergeben aber das liest ja dann keiner. Alle gieren ja nach dem negativen Urteil und ich muss zugeben, auch ich habe nur die Ein- Stern- Urteile gelesen. Und trotz allem habe ich ihn gekauft. Im Anschluss versuche ich zu erklären warum.Ich möchte zu diesem Einhandhobel mit diesem Spitzenpreis zwar auch keine Lobhymnen singen aber man bekommt für kleines Geld ein ordentliches Ausgangsprodukt. Die Flächen sind nicht eben und die Klinge ist nicht scharf und schon gar nicht gehärtet. Wer aber in der Lage ist das Ding zu überarbeiten kann danach recht zufrieden damit arbeiten.Beim Kauf war ich auf all das vorbereitet, denn ein high- end- Produkt konnte ich nicht erwarten. Wie auch? Also erst einmal den Hobel zerlegt und alle wichtigen Teile überprüft. Beim vermessen der Hobelsohle kam eine Unebenheit von 0,22 mm heraus. Das habe ich auf meiner Fräsmaschine mit einem Schlagzahnfräser behoben.Beim betrachten des Hobelmessers war mir der Schneidenwinkel zu stumpf. Kurzerhand mit Hilfe von Sandpapier unterschiedlicher Körnung nachgeschliffen, eingespannt und ausprobiert. Nach ein paar Zügen quer zur Holzfaser bemerkte ich das die Schneide einen Grat bekam. Die Klinge war also zu weich. Die Klinge im Öl gehärtet, noch einmal geschliffen, denn nach den Härten hatte sie sich etwas verzogen, und wieder getestet und siehe da, jetzt stand die Schneide. Auch Äste im Brett waren jetzt kein Problem mehr. Jetzt bin ich mit dem erworbenen Produkt zufrieden und für meine Zwecke, dem gelegentlichen fasen von Schnittkanten, ist das Ding jetzt fast zu "gut".Fazit: Wer nicht dazu in der Lage ist solche Billigprodukte aus Fernost nachzuarbeiten der sollte sich dann lieber wo anders umsehen. Wer aber so etwas als Herausforderung sieht, der kann ganz beruhigt zugreifen.Ich hoffe ich konnte all die negativen Beurteilungen entschärfen und etwas zur Aufklärung beitragen. Mir ist schleierhaft wie doch tatsächlich Leute sich ein Billigprodukt kaufen um dann auf ihnen herumzuhacken. das scheint ein Breitensport zu sein.

the product is OK for the price but faithfull model is much better quality. Now I own both models unfortunatelyI publish this post to warn other potential buyers that the blade width is 36 mm and not 41 or 42 mm as Amazon says in description of the product. This false advertisment misslead me to order one. after opening the package I realised that it i actually block plane 60 1/2 model. Now I have two block planes of the same size (faithfull and silverline) thanks to the missleading data on the product . Thanks Amazon! :( :(It is to expensive to return the product-I ll keep it- but it is highly unproffesional from Amazon to post inacurate description of the product

Terrible plane and not worth a penny, unless you dismantle the thing upon receipt and sand and file all metalwork including the blade to make it anywhere near useful. Doesn't work at all out the box, crudely finished and the blade would struggle to shave a block of cheese. Truly awful.

i needed a small block plane for those smaller woodworking tasks like taking the harris off the edges of finished jobs etc and the slight small adjustments , looked at the expensive usual suspects and saw the favorable reviews for this budget one and the price offer helped so i took a chance , for me as a hobby woodworker its by far good enough for me , maybe a full time chippie would frown upon it but i would recommend it if you cannot or dont want to pay the full top name price but need a good little block plane .

Very badly manufactured. The sole has been ground completely out of square with the rest of the body of the plane. The sole is at an angle of 88° to the rest of the body.This causes the blade to stick out deeper on one side and no amount of adjustment will compensate for it.Postage to send it back would cost more than the price of the item so I am stuck with an expensive paperweight in the shape of a block plane.Lesson learned: never buy Silverline Tools.
