Q: Some of the comments I've read had said cord is too short from pad to control. What does that mean?

I think they mean that the cord isn't long enough and the temperature control is under the mattress, which it should never be. I disagree. If you follow the instructions and place the heater where they say, you should have no problem where the temperature control come out from. Just make sure that there is nothing in between the actual heater and mattress other than the liner. I hope this helps.

Q: How do I contact them for warranty?

I would check and see if there is warranty. I am sure they last at over 10yrs. Mine always have.

Q: What is overall size of the pad

It's about a foot long and is placed on just one side of the bottom part of bed frame before you place thebwwterbed matters

Q: ordered heater for hardside waterbed package says hard side but model number is for soft side is there a difference

I've had trouble with this heater heating my bed, I have a king size bed. I don't personally see any difference except for the thickness of the mattress. I'm returning mine and if I were you I'd do the same thing. I ordered a different one. It has a separate thermostat that can be placed under the bed.
