My GTI suddenly died one day, turning the key would do absolutely nothing- not even a single click from the starter. I have a 2011 GTI 2.0T w/ manual trans and this starter was an exact replacement.For installation, it is two 18mm bolts, two 13mm nuts, one plastic shield and one cable clip.First, disconnect your battery!Top bolts: Remove the intake (easily found on YouTube), slide little red clip away from starter, cable should pop right off. There is a plastic shroud. Unclip the smaller round end, fold out and slide down. Remove 13mm nut, remove wire connection and clean with rubbing alcohol and wire brush! For the big bolt, I used an 18mm socket with an extension.Bottom bolts: Jack up and support the car safely. Remove undershield with 8x T25 torx screws. Remove the 13mm nut and push aside the bracket, then remove the 18mm bolt holding on the starter. Recommend pushing in the top bolt temporarily to hold the starter up from falling on your face lol.Reassemble and start your car! Good luck!

This fit perfectly for my My Car Starts!!! 2012 VW Golf TDI 6 speed.I have had my car for 4 years and over time i couldn't even get it to start after 2 days sitting in an airport parking lot. I had to carry a portable jump pack. I have a brand new battery and the car would not even turn over. So my next step was the starter. I shed a a tear when i installed this and it turned on before I could count to 1. I feel like i bought a new car. This is a cheap starter with some power.

This item was advertised and promised to fit my 2006 Audi A3 2.0T with the automatic DSG transmission. The order was delayed by a day adding a great inconvenience. When it finally arrived, it did not come close to fitting my vehicle that it was guaranteed to fit. I was able to diassemble it and use what I needed to repair my existing starter motor instead

Arrived prompt well packaged looks better than the OEM part. You definitely need an 18 mm deep socket and a breaker bar and a flat ratchet for this installation. You will save hundreds of dollars DYI.

Prodict fit

2008 Pasat 2.0t FSI engine. Starter fit and works perfectly. As far as durability going on 18mos no problems. Great value for the price. I would buy this product again.
