One sensor, 3 awings
Easy breezy to install (pun intended). So I have 3 sun setter power swings across the back of the house. TIP: I figured out by placing ONE of these in the right spot it would trigger all three in the event of high winds. Set all your awings to the same in/out channel on the remote. Then you have to play around with the location of the wind sensor but I found a sweet spot and when the sensor is triggered it closes ALL three units. For my situation sensor was about in middle of the three swings on an arm. Before you buy one of these expensive sensors for every awing play around with it and you may find you can get away with just one.

Simple, Functional,, and is Insurance
The problem is that when the wind comes up and you forget or are not there to retract your awning, it may rip the awning or rip apart of your house. OK, we all know that. The insurance, buy a sensor. So we did. It is simple, amazing, easy to install. If you have a Somfy remote, then this is just another, special purpose remote. Take it out of the box, put in the batteries, check the sensitivity switch (it is a switch and has steps in it, it is not like a volume control). You then program it (easy), peel of the double sided tape and attach it to the awning bar recommended by the awning manufacturer. Test, extend the awning out a ways, shake it for a few times over a short period and it will retract automatically. There is a time delay before you can extend the awning again. Wait a couple of minutes and test again. I have had it up for a while and needed the awning this summer every day. Wind came up in the afternoon and we wondered who retracted the awning. It must be working, and well.

Product easy to install yourself - save money
This product was purchased as a replacement for a similar unit that due to age just stopped working properly. By following the directions, especially those directions obtained from the Somfy website, it took me about 10 minutes to install and set up -there were no other issues and the replacement unit works perfectly as designed. As an after note, I contacted the authorized dealer for this product in my area to have them come out and check out system, I was willing to pay them for labor and materials- the dealer told me if they did not install it, they would not service it, authorized dealer not helpful in resolving problem - so I went to Amazon and purchased the unit myself and set up/installation was very easy - I also probably saved about $200-$300 by doing it myself.

I set the sensitivity back to 2 (factory setting) which worked fine for 20+ mph gusty day we had recently
The awning dealer tried to upsell me one of these units for about $300. It sets up and installs in 5 minutes. If you can read the instructions you can definitely do it yourself. After fiddling with it for a bit, I set the sensitivity back to 2 (factory setting) which worked fine for 20+ mph gusty day we had recently. Give yourself the peace of mind knowing your expensive retractable awning won't blow away when you're not home.
