Yes. There is a solo mode to this game.

Q: To confirm, can you flip stones, shift stones and score in the same turn?

Depending on how many cards you have in your hand. You start with 4 cards. If you can’t play anything then you can draw 2 cards so your next turn you’ll have 6. If you have a card that is worth 3 points and you need to make 4 moves to get the card set then yes you can flip, shift and score all in one swoop!

Q: Could a player opposite rotate rotate the cards in his/her hand to show a more direct view of the upside down tiles?

You could rotate the cards just so another player would see/understand better. HOWEVER, unless given a house rule, the tiles and cards are to only be viwed from one angle/side.
