Rapala Shadow Rap Deep 11 Silver Lure

I use the Rapala Shadow Rap Deep 11 all year round. It dives 8' deep easily or even deeper with long casts with fluorocarbon line. Sometimes, specially in Spring and Fall whennthe bite is tough, a suspending action lure helps. The lure suspends horizontal at the depth you reach so you can make long pauses, 5 or even 20 seconds, to mimic a steady baitfish, perhaps an easier meal. I've caught walleye, pike, crappie and dogfish while fishing for bass. Sometimes this lure works better than any other lure. Blacke and silver, perch, halloween and bone colors have been doing very well this season. A few things I always keep in mind: The treble hooks are very sharp, they must be handle with extreme caution to avoid injuries. After I catch a fish, I check the hooks because it's not unusual that they get straightened out. Just gently bend them back with a pair of pliers. If the fish is barely hooked, I don't yank or pull too hard because the hooks are very thin and weak.

These are the best jerkbait I have used. I will be honest, I cannot say I catch more fish with these than any other, because there are too many factors to fishing that can determine how much I catch, but I can tell you they have great action in the water. If you look at them closely compared to other jerkbaits they are a little bit more slim and have a sharper backline than most jerkbaits which are just rounded. I believe this gives them their action and makes them a bit better. They have great colors to choose from, with a shallow and deep version, big eyes, and suspend pretty well right out of the box. Since they are all a little different, you may find yourself adding some weight to a few. Be prepared to set up any jerkbait based on your location. Anyway, these are slick lures that work well. I bought several, you should too!
