Q: Are these really truly compatible with Legos? My son has thousands of Legos and gets very frustrated if an “off” set doesn’t fit with his other bricks

I have used Mega blocks and Lego blocks interchangeably before. Obviously the unique shaped ones will differ, but the buttons will fit together.

Q: Do you actually put together the item? Or does it come pre-built?

You assemble these items from Mattel. It is similar to a Lego item that you put together..
