We've played it through a few times now and it's good fun, gives a little more interaction and excitement compared to non-electornic-ised board games that the tablet generation needs. The only criticism is the speaker is LOOOOOOUD, so we've covered it up with blu-tak and it's still fairly loud. Volume adjustment would be nice but it's not a deal breaker.

We bought this game, having already the classic jumanji game. There are some good features that made for us this version the best of all (apart from the collector version): - The size is similar to the one in the movie (the previous electronic prop replica was smaller) - The player's counters were figures, which is more realistic in comparison with regular colour counters - The box plays drums and music when you open it - The central dome iluminates and riddles appear randomly when you press it like magic - It includes a deck of challenge cards that makes more fun to play - The tokens that emulate the lives players have like the Jumanji sequels. - Nice carved artwork on the box However, there are details that could have been improved and left down the overall evaluation of Jumanji deluxe: - Box being made of plastic instead of wood - The carved artwork would have looked amazing painted in colours instead of a brown uniform tone that only emphasizes the fact of being plastic made - Tokens are not very sturdy and perhaps could have been made of a more durable material ( or maybe interactive cards that you could change the number of lives on display. I think the collectors edition has this) - Symbols on the dices are not very clear what they are and there isn't any description of their meaning on the instructions. - The counters were a bit of disappointment because when they did well in making figures, they failed when giving all rhinos figures in different colours. They should have made a different animal for each colour like the movie ( monkey, elephant, rhino and crocodile). So we are not playing with these but with a replica set of figures we bought from an independent artist. - The deck of cards is a plus, but a bit messy having all cards extended on the table to be able searching for the right one to solve the riddle. It takes too much room. - The packaging box where the game came it doesn't have a plastic cover and is open which is not very convenient for storing the game away and prevent scratches when piling up with other boardgames, so you have to find a place for it that doesn't involve putting something on top. Saying all this, I'm still thinking this version is much better than the electronic mini replica, the classic boardgame with the manual decoder, or the previous wooden deluxe version with the decoder). The best proof of this is my son convinced that it is the real game of the movie. He was very impressed with the sound and the dome effects. However, it is difficult to complaint if you consider the price you pay. In summary, I would recommend this deluxe version for those who want to experiment a real feel of the game like the movie without breaking the bank. But if you are after a more faithful replica, I would definitely pay 3 times the price for the collectors edition which is more accurate.
