We bought two of these. One for our 2006 tundra and the second for our 2019 tundra. After a month of use the check engine light came on in the '06 tundra even after verifying that the cap was screwed on correctly until it clicked. After removing it and returning to the stock cap the check engine light went off. So the venting on this cap is obviously not designed properly.On our '19 tundra the cap failed to unlock when we tried to get gas in a remote part of our state. Luckily someone had some tools and we had to pry the top of the cap off with a flathead screwdriver (not difficult at all) and then easily unscrewed the white part that had the threads on it. So anyone with simple tools can bypass this if they want.The locking mechanisms inside are garbage too and so flimsy that it will cause it to fail like it did on our vehicles. Save your money and frustration and just stay with your stock gas cap.

I thought it would be a good idea to install a lockable gas cap, with gas being as high as it is. It fit fine, but was hard to get on and off. Additionally, my Mazda kept showing an error with the gas cap in use. After taking it to the dealership, it turns out Mazdas know when you're not using the OEM gas cap and throw an error because of the improper vapor lock. In the end, I stopped using it. For me, it was a waster; However, your milage may vary (so to speak).

Match the tread on your original gas cap or you will have the hassle of check engine light drama. This one has a standard spiral pattern like you see in most screw tops. My car (Mazda) has a rectangular ridge pattern so this product wasn’t actually compatible. Also I found the locking and unlocking very difficult- but that could have been due to mis-matched threading.

Easy to put on ,not easy to put off after the first fill I put on, it wouldn't come off ,had to get away help and they just ended having to break it off. Worse purchase
