Rent this top-selling computer networking textbook that takes a layered, top-down approach. The 8th edition includes updated content and is designed to motivate students. Review: New edition of an excellent textbook - There are many good texts that provide an introduction to computer networking, but this is the one I think is the best. This new edition, with valuable updates and excellent web resources is particularly good. Review: Poorly Printed Book - Unfortunately my copy was damaged on arrival, a dent to the front cover and 200 pages. The paper is poor quality and thin. The book size is too small, with a small typeface and little space at the side of the text for making notes. The layout of the content is very basic , it has a good reference and index. I hope the 9th edition can improve over this, the 8th edition. Other computer books by Pearson Publishing are larger, better paper, decent font size and layout of material. A consistent good quality of style is need for the Pearson Computing books. Not good enough for a £60 book.

Not proper Kindle ebook...
This product is a low quality scan of the physical book, not a proper Kindle ebook.

Good content but bad kindle formatting
Good content but there are multiple blank pages after every image in this version of the book on kindle. It’s very annoying especially considering this book is not cheap.

The pages in the global print edition are literally transparent. I am not joking. When reading a page, you can not only see the back side, but also the following page. You always see *three* sides of text overlaid together, which makes the book near impossible to read. Take a look at the picture I attached. No joke, you can see three pages of text at the same time. I'm not sure if it's Pearson (who, by the way, is apparently introducing NFT textbooks--make of this what you will), or the international publisher in Malaysia, but it's clear they are penny pinching by making the pages as thin as toilet paper. Avoid at all costs. Maybe avoid Pearson as well.

Just started out reading the book, I find it very informative and clearly illustrated with examples explaining complex concepts. HOWEVER Pearsons "digital resources" for the global edition is non-existent. Short version: At the back of the cover there are instructions (see picture) to access digital resources. The link that the instructions tell you to go to is parked by Pearson. When contacting Pearson their advice is to return the book since "[...] the version you bought technically not managed by Pearson."". HOWEVER the authors have a public website with digital resources for their book which is free, doesn't require login and they even replied within 5min of me contacting them. Search for "authors website computer networking a top down approach" and you will find it. Authors = 6/5 Pearson = -1/5
