If you mean ambidextrous, yes, you could use them with either hand equally.

Q: Are these good for cuticles, or should I get separate scissors? (There is nail-only version of these). Hybrid products are often bad at both.

The answer depends on your grooming habits. This tool is designed to do both nails and cuticles, it is very sharp and will last a long time. If you ONLY use the thicker blade for nails and ONLY the thinner pointed tip for cuticles, this is an excellent tool and will serve you well for both purposes. If you think you might need to use the whole blade for cuticles, or might use the pointed tip on nails, we urge you to get specialized tools. The reason behind this is because once you use the blade to cut something hard (nails), it will not be able to cut something delicate (cuticles) nearly as well. This tool has it's uses and has been a lifesaver though, we like to keep one of these scissors in the car glovebox for emergency touchups. For a daily use tool, dedicated nail and cuticle scissors may serve you better.

Q: Does this come with a case?

It comes in a clear plastic case but this case is not resealable. I keep mine in the case but it's really not made for storage.

Q: Does this cut cuticles close

As close as you like -- you're in control.
