Join Katie as she steps into some of the most famous paintings in the world for an exciting art adventure! The stars in Vincent van Gogh's painting are so beautiful that Katie can't resist reaching in and taking one. But what will she do when all the other stars come tumbling out of the painting, too? Will Katie be able to catch the stars before the gallery guard notices they've floated away? 'A wonderful way to engage children with art. A brilliant combination of education and storytelling' - Parents in Touch (Katie's Picture Show) This first introduction to Van Gogh features five of his most brilliant paintings: The Starry Night, Noon, Vincent's Chair, Fishing Boats on the Beach and The Olive Grove. Classic picture book character, Katie, has been delighting children for over 25 years. Why not collect all 13 titles in the series? It is such a unique plot with Katie being able to climb inside the paintings. I read it to my kindergarten class and their jaws dropped when we got to the part where Katie climbed into the painting. I read this to go along with our Earth Science unit and it was perfect. Our art teacher helped the kids paint Van Gogh's Starry Night and the paintings turned out great. My niece told me about this book and used it with her preK class (3 year olds) and they loved it as well. She is very "artsy" and took the painting a step farther. She took individual pictures of her students and cut them out and let them paste them on their pictures. Fun, fun learning. Her three year olds can now pick out a Van Gogh! There are several other books in this series that are equally wonderful. Review: Beautiful Fun LIVING BOOK on Art History! - As a homeschooling mom of 4 kids under 8 these Katie books are an INCREDIBLE resource for introducing them to great classic artists and artworks. They are fun, show great integrity to the original works all while bringing them alive for small children and making them excited about art. These books are the greatest example of a "Living Book" In a Charlotte Mason, unschooling, or Montessori education and the ids truly love and cherish them. I love that we are creating these memories for them of great art and literature.

Beautiful way introduce to children about Vincent Van Gogh
I bought this book to introduce my 6 year old daughter to the fine art. I love Vincent Van Gogh, so that's where I started. We both really enjoyed the book and she fell in love with A Starry Night. It's read every night. I love how they introduce other's of Vincent's art pieces in a way a child can understand. I recommend this book.

This is a sweet book for someone who wants to introduce a little one to great art at an early age. Plan on getting the entire series. Can’t go wrong..

My Preschoolers Loved It!!
Great book to introduce Picasso to preschool children. They loved it and ended up painting their own versions of Starry Night. The illustrations were beautiful as well.

Perfect for introducing art to children of 3 to 6 years
I'm working as a teacher in a german kindergarten and since there seems to be nothing appropriate for children between 3 and 6 yrs in this area in german language I tried this one (translated it and glued the german text to the pages). It's really a wonderful, imaginative and compelling story for kids of this age and also beautifully drawn. Perfectly suitable for introducing art to children of the elementary sector. Check out the other. "Katie and..." books :-)

Great book, poor packaging
It’s a lovely book, helps introduce young children to art and iconic paintings. However the book came folded. Just putting it in a bigger envelope would have helped. Totally marred our experience to have a bend in the middle. Twice. Such a shame.

Love Katie's books! Wonderful history and images
Me and my kid simply love this series! Katie's books are wonderful and this one in special. The style of the drawing following Van Gogh's style makes the whole book more vivid.

Katie Collection
Katie collection by James Mayhew is worth to keep in your shelf for your kids. It’s Katie’s adventure to the museum, meeting a lot of painting characters and also their painter. I found the price of this book is cheaper from Amazon than the other websites.
