Reliable Cordless Phone System with Great Call Blocking
Reliable Cordless Phone System with Great Call Blocking The Panasonic DECT 6.0 cordless phone system (KX-TGE433B, 3 handsets) has been one of the most dependable home phone setups I’ve owned. It’s straightforward to set up right out of the box—the handsets were already paired to the base, and adding extra ones was just a matter of pressing a couple buttons. The sound quality is clear, and the talking caller ID in English or Spanish is surprisingly handy when I’m across the room. The standout feature is the one-touch call block. I can block up to 250 numbers, including those annoying robocalls that still slip through the Do Not Call registry. Once blocked, they barely ring before the call is cut off. That feature alone makes this worth it if you’re tired of telemarketers. The answering machine is easy to use, with clear playback. There’s also a voice paging feature that lets me make an announcement to all handsets at once—useful in a larger home. The system’s range has been excellent; it holds signal strong through thick walls. Another plus is the battery backup that keeps it running during power outages. If I had to nitpick, the display could be brighter, and the menus take a bit of practice to navigate. Still, once you learn the codes and shortcuts, it becomes second nature. Bottom line: This Panasonic system combines reliable sound, useful features, and unbeatable call blocking in a well-priced package. If you still rely on a landline at home or in a home office, it’s one of the best options out there.

good voice quality; very versatile; easy to set up
I ordered this Panasonic cordless phone system to replace a similar, older Panasonic system that was wearing out. My wife and I really liked the older system so we wanted to replace it with one that was similar. This phone system arrives in a smaller box than expected, but everything is well packed and protected from damage in the box. The main base unit that has the telephone answering system in it is a little smaller than our old base unit, which accounts for the smaller box. The handheld phones are a small enough size to carry around comfortably if desired but large enough to provide decent volume. The system comes with belt clips that can be attached to the handheld phones if desired. Each of the phones operates with two AAA sized rechargeable NiMH batteries (included), and the system is designed so stored battery power in the handheld phones can be used to power the system in the event of a power failure. The answering system can be easily turned on or off with the press of a button on the base unit or by one of the handheld phones depending on your needs. In our case we have voicemail so the answering system is an unnecessary feature. I did discover, though, that it defaults to "on" right out of the box and will answer a call after 3 rings. It recorded a junk phone call, and the recording was good. You can adjust the length of recording time available for a message, and messages are easy to listen to and delete. There is a large numeric display that shows how many phone messages have been recorded, and a light on the top of the phone will also flash to tell you there are recorded messages to hear. Our cats have a tendency to march on top of the phone and can accidentally turn the answering machine on by stepping on the button on the base unit. You can easily tell if the answering system is on or off, though, by whether or not the numeric display is lit. Voice clarity and volume is good on the handsets. There is no audible noise or interference with sound quality. The handsets can be used as speakerphones, and they can also be used as an intercom system. There is a locator function built into the base unit that can help you find a lost handset. Panasonic sells additional handsets that can be paired with the system to extend the number of handsets in your home. It is expensive to do this, though, and is more cost effective to simply buy an additional system and pair them together. In our case, between our older system and this new one we have five functional phone handsets scattered about the house which more than meets our needs. Overall, my wife and I are very happy with this Panasonic cordless phone system. It has good voice quality, is inexpensive and very versatile. One caveat, though. The phone system uses a larger number of numeric codes to program various things it can be configured to do. They are listed in the included owner's manual, which you will want to keep in a safe place for future reference. The manual can also be downloaded as a .pdf file from the Panasonic web site.

GREAT PHONE/ANSWERING MACHINE WITH MANY FEATURES
I bought this for my VoIP phone line to help block numbers. I hope, in time, it eliminates many unwanted calls. I also wanted a separated answering machine because I only use the basic service which has voicemail but does not allow listening to messages while using the phone; really stupid restriction allowed only with additional $10.00 monthly fee. Anyway, this phone is working great for me for just for these 2 main purposes. Another feature I like is it will suppress the first ring as not to interrupt me while it analyzes the call to determine if it is a chosen blocked number where it will disconnect the call totally without disturbing me at all. There are many other features including a baby monitor, call list, phone book, speed dialing, et al. I would have given this phone 5 stars if it weren't so hard to access and perform some of the many included features/functions. FYI: A nice inclusion is a real [booklet] owner's manual which does have a code (#code) listing to, presumably, give direct [easy] access to each function. Sure, this is a good idea but who can remember the many different codes for each function. I remember a few codes which I tend to use most often. Overall, a very nice phone which appears solid and well made.

Another great Panasonic DECT 6.0 system PLUS easy Call BLOCK
4.5 Stars Almost Perfect!! Only thing I do not like is the screen could be easier to read if it was backlit better. This replaced my previous Panasonic DECT 6 I've enjoyed for over 10 years. It was old and the answering machine stopped working. Opportunity to find a system that allows Call Blocking. During my initial search I saw there are many answering systems that do NOT allow call blocking. So finding this was a huge plus. And the call block has a dedicated button on each phone so as the nuisance call is coming in you just press the call block dedicated button one time and it goes into the up to 250 blocked number slots or until you release it and unblock. They also capture incoming calls with no Caller Id. LOVE this!! As soon as I got it I programmed in a well known charity that calls me every day and sends mail every week. Within 3 hours I heard my phone ring once and it successfully blocked them. I didn't even have to press the call block. You can set it up to ring one time only for blocked numbers, or not ring at all. Because it's new I like to see when the call block works so I let it ring once for now. This was surprisingly easy to set up out of the small box. Great clear manual. You can also store 100 numbers and list them by group for easy dialing. You can also set up special ring tones for the groups. I like the Talking Caller Id. Manual explains many programming features such as Night Mode (Silent Mode so there is no talking caller Id or ringing while you are sleeping, etc. Overall the base/ answering machine and each charging base are smaller and much lighter than my previous Panasonic system. I hope this one lasts as long and functions as well as the last Panasonic system. Worth the many new features!!

Mediocre where it counts as a phone.
It's ok, but not as good as I expected it to be. Other reviewers raved about the phone's volume but I found it to be a little on the soft side. The speaker phone volume is adequate, but that is not a good option for conversations when others in the area are trying to listen to music, tv, etc. The call blocking feature works as expected and is easy to use. The caller announcement 'voice' is horrible. The text to speech translation is rarely understandable and it is given in a soft monotone that makes it difficult to separate syllables to try to guess the words. There is also quite a bit of attenuation from unknown sources. It's there with or without the wifi, ceiling fans, lights, and appliances running. It's just not a good quality phone system for normal conversation...and isn't that the primary purpose of a telephone?

Mostly good features. Average audio quality. Weak speakerphone mic.
Pretty decent set of phones. I’d probably buy again. I like the big LCD display, backlight, PA feature, button feel, caller-ID announce, menu system, address-book, and the fact that all my settings “sync” across all the handsets. Good experience overall. This is my first DECT 6.0 phone (1.9 GHz digital), I knew it would still be band-pass “phone” quality audio, but I had the expectation that the “digital” voice audio quality would be better. But it’s only slightly better than my old 2.4Ghz phones. It still has a very slight background hiss (but the hiss is reduced between words with some sort of noise gate.). I doubt it’s totally related to this Panasonic phone; probably a product of consumer DECT implementation. Oh well it works fine. Just not great. My other gripe: As other reviewers have noted, this speaker-phone’s microphone is horrible. The speaker works okay (I can hear other people fine, well enough to fill a quiet room). But other people can’t hear me unless I’m within 1 foot of this handset’s mic. (Worse than my old phone.) So it’s kind-of a 1-way speakerphone. Pros: + Killer deal when on lightning sale here in Amazon. Good buy even at regular price. + Three handsets are better than two. + Can still function during a power outage (using the base-station’s handset’s batteries). + Uses regular AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (cheaper than proprietary battery packs). + Call-block feature is easy to use (but I doubt its effective, given the spoofing by robo-call folks). + Sturdy fit-and-finish feel. + Better range than my previous old 2.4Ghz phones. + PA feature (intercom speakerphone to one or all handsets) is a nice bonus. Cons: - Audio quality is average. Not crystal clear. - Caller ID voice-announcement is a bit slow: Doesn’t announce the name until after about 2 1/2 rings. But maybe that’s average for caller-ID. ...? - Belt clip is thin, and doesn’t function as a shoulder-rest (wedge between my ear and shoulder) like my old phone’s belt clip. - Speaker-phone’s microphone is horrible.

Great phone set
These phones are versatile. It's so nice to have one in every toom. I like the audio call announcement. I can put lots of phone numbers in the address book. It's easy to add a caller's name and number to the phone book. Panasonic has been reliable for me.

Require 110 volts
Require 3 step down power transforms as well as USA power pin adaptor to operate in Singapore.

Very good phones!
It’s easy to set up. The phone feels good in the hand. The clarity of sound is very good. Audio caller ID was not preset which was nice as it’s annoying. The locator is great and I love the answering machine because it was easy to record my message and the read out of how many messages is bright and easy to spot from across the room. I did not give it 5 stars for 1 reason. If I’m working at the kitchen counter, have the phone on speaker and lay the phone flat, the person at the other end of the phone can’t hear me. The phone needs to be standing and it needs to be close by in order for my voice to be heard. So a little improvement of voice capture in the speaker phone and I would give this Panasonic a 5. Over all, I’m very happy with it :)
