Great picture and build. Watch out for power issue!
I really like the high res 2K camera, best on the market and the build quality is pretty solid. Installation was easy, but I had to do some chisel work as my old doorbells were installed on slightly angled finishing trim around the door.Still fiddling with the zones and motion sensitivity to get that right. Really like the audio options and loudness and quality of the plug in chime unit.Bought one Eufy wired doorbell unit originally and it allowed me to set up no problem. The app indicated I had enough power. Everything seemed OK, except for a couple disconnects, which I restarted the unit and solved each time. In hindsight I think my power was a bit low.I liked the first one so much that I ordered a second wired cam, a reconditioned one (which seemed good as new) for my back doorbell. One bit of advice is the install ID, serial number on the box of the reconditioned unit is likely not correct. Took me a few tries to realize that it was wrong. I scanned the code on the back of the actual unit and it installed correctly. Another bit of advice is to take a photo of the install QR code on your device so you have the unit number for any future unit resets as it will ask you to take pic of the QR code (hard to do once unit is installed) or enter it manually.Installing the rear doorbell was a bit more finicky. I noticed I was having detection issues on both the front and rear door bell cameras and sometimes one or the other failed to pick up the motion. I also noticed either the front or back doorbell cams kept disconnecting, losing power. The issue was I had enough voltage for one camera, barely enough. I was getting about 10V (see old transformer above) which seemed to allow the cam to work,, but ideally not up to the 16 volts I really needed. If you experience any issues with your cam likely the first thing to blame is power.Once I added that second cam the draw on the power was too heavy and the camera connections kept failing. I ordered this (see red transformer above) off Amazon, of course, and even though Eufy recommended, 16-24V at 30VA I installed the 24V 40VA as I found another thread where Ankur said the larger size transformer would also work. I went with the one noted below because I have two cams and I wanted to ensure I had enough VAs for the heavier draw. Anyhow, the transformer was located outside my fuse panel and installation was quite simple to replace old underpowered unit with new 24V unit. Some transformers are located in the wall behind the old doorbell chime unit.MEROM 24V 40VA Thermostat and Doorbell Transformerhttps://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08HJ4JL4P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_i_954B6BZP61AHZA372WT8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1If you are comfortable with electrical, you can easily do this yourself, but please make sure you shut off the correct breaker that feeds your chime’s transformer unit before you touch any wiring.

An amazing privacy-focused doorbell. Switched from a Ring and I'll never go back.
This is one of those products that deserves a comprehensive review so buckle up.Short version: This is a phenomenal doorbell and security camera. The camera quality is excellent, audio is crisp, setup is easier than you'd think, and you'll be using a product by a company that actually tries to respect your privacy.Long version:Like many people I have been very concerned with the position Ring has taken on user privacy. Recent media reports say that that they are freely sharing footage with law enforcement and are even working on being able to identify people on a "watchlist with their cameras. This combined with the constant recharging, monthly storage charges, and poor video quality of my Ring left me looking for an alternative.Eufy's device is different than Rings. It appears that Eufy has designed the doorbell to store the footage locally on the device in an encrypted manor. This theoretically means that you, and only you, will have access to your footage. It also means that there are no monthly service charges. Yay!Installation: I'll admit I was initially worried about the installation. My home was built in the 70s and the doorbell system is from that time period as well. Thankfully, the installation was incredibly simple. The included instructions were clear and required simple steps like removing screws, plugging in wires, and tightning screws. I was up and running in 30 minutes with a new sleek doorbell mounted on the included angle mount that gave me a better view than the Ring device I was using.App: The app is well designed and walks you through most issues you'll encounter. If the wiring scares you - it shouldn't. There are very simple diagrams and anyone with a sliver of DIY ability will have no issues. The app responds instantly and I haven't had a single issue with it. Settings are clearly laid out and everything is accessible.Video/Audio: The video quality on the camera is superb and the audio is really impressive. The device holds a good wifi signal and there is almost no delay in footage. Additionally, when someone triggers a motion alert the doorbell crops out their face and it appears in the notification on my iPhone. The sound is perfectly synched up with the video and it is much much clearer than what is on the Ring doorbell. Eufy's HDR works well for me but should only be used in a dim environment. One feature I was thrilled with was the ability to remove "fish-eye distortion". This helps people who mount their device next to a ledge or column. The software automatically flattens the image to compensate without hurting the view of the camera. This one check-box made my video much more useful. The sensitivity of the camera is great and already I'm not getting notifications from passing cars on my road. Another win over Ring.Chime: The interior doorbell chime is good, although I wish it had a way to adjust the volume or play different rings. It's also unclear if it can be battery powered and, if so, for how long. Eufy should probably clarify this. Now i'll talk about what I would change. It may seem like a lot, but none of these items hurt the experience of this excellent product. As Eufy's first doorbell I want to give them suggestions for the next version. At this point I know whatever they put out, I'll be buying it.Here are some minor suggestions I have for the Eufy team:- Since there is no doorbell company competition in the privacy sector, It would be good for consumers to know if anyone at Eufy ever has the ability to access any footage. I know Eufy says they don't - but do they have the capability? Is any footage accessible in the cloud at all? After all, this is a Wi-Fi connected device. As an IT professional, it would be nice to have a more detailed explanation.- The doorbell could use some fun new rings and a way to adjust the volume- It's unclear in the instructions if it is possible to use the doorbell with the home's internal chime.- 5GHz WiFi is really important these days. Especially when many people are in crowded environments the signals can be jumbled. Thankfully the 2.4GHz transmitter in this device is EXCELLENT but it would be nice to have the new standard available.- The doorbell could use HomeKit and/or SmartThings functionality to tie it into the rest of my house. HomeKit Secure Video would be awesome as well.- 4GB of local storage could use a bump. It's a little low. The ability to use a MicroSD card would be awesome and may help Eufy keep their costs down.- A temperature sensor would be nice to see what the temperature is outside- Exclusion zones simply give a small red box that can't be increased in size. I've tried multiple times.Overall, this is a great product. Not only does it deliver on privacy and security but it also smashes the competition in functionality, video quality, setup, and ease of use. I really can't recommend it enough. Great job, Eufy!

No subscription!
Installation was pretty easy, instructions were lacking in depth for my preference but adequate to get the job done. If you are NOT mechanically AND electrically inclined get someone who is to help/do it for you! This is a fairly easy install. Even powered doorbells don't have lethal voltages. Focus is better than expected, linking to chime and app is easy and app seems user friendly! Overall this is a very good deal. Vid quality is great, tests are impressive. Definately better than a monthly fee! I reccommend this! Two snaps up and a circle!

The best doorbell for value.
If you have WiFi issues, including lag and latency when using this doorbell, or if you have hardware issues with the chime emitting a constant buzz, READ this.General summary: 5/5 recommend this doorbell. No subscription is a huge selling point. You don’t need a micro SD, though I wish internal storage was a bit larger- but it’s ok. Quality is really really nice, both day and night. I find communicating to work fairly well with minimal latency - make sure to speak up and be clear !WiFi Issues? For a couple months after install, I was so upset that the latency was SO bad. It would rarely connect, take forever to review footage.. live view was so slow- it made it pointless to be honest. But I found out a couple things. The obvious is that you need a connect to your router fairly close by or a good router in general. The second and IMPORTANT part is a bit more complicated for some but there are many YouTube videos that make it easy. This doorbell only connects to a 2.4 network. Go to your routers login page, and go to the 2.4 network settings. Make sure you set a dedicated channel: either 2, 6, or 11. 6 can work most of the time but you can try the others if you have issues. The reason for this is because the lag you’re experiencing is from conflicting neighbouring networks. Interference. Setting a dedicated channel fixed my wifi issue immediately. It works flawless now. This is a must if you have issues with wifi and live in a crowded network area.Hardware Issue with chime buzz? READ:It’s very easy to install this doorbell. I even did it at night with no experience prior. However, my chime was buzzing and vibrating a hum for some reason after my install. This is likely due to the voltage of the doorbell drawing more power. I used one jumper but it had this issue. I will note that I have two doorbells at my home, so I just installed the second jumper in my old chime and the buzzing went away instantly. This might be obvious to some but wasn’t clear as my system has more than one doorbell :)Cheers.

Unable to connect device
I had initially bought an indoor EUFY camera to test the system and software. It worked pretty good so I decided to go all in with a video doorbell and external cameras. Bad mistake. After a few hours of troubleshooting and time on chat with EUFY support I caved and returned this item. My system power supply and wifi met all the EUFY requirements but at the end of the day, I could not connect the device to my network. The first issue I solved was the QR code, The code in the box was different than the device. Then after many attempts, I finally got it to connect to Bluetooth but was never able to get it to connect to wifi after multiple reconfigurations on my router. On my last attempt, I couldn't get it to connect to Bluetooth even after both soft and hard resets. I will be looking for a different camera provider.
