Fixed my warm AC
I had an AC technician that checked my truck and told me I needed a new compressor. After seeing this item being described on a forum I decided to try it. Boy, now my AC gets very cold and is summer here. Definitely worth the install. Recommended!

Fix that warm AC in your Ram!
Ram engineers have some questionable designs - such as running the hot hose to the heater core alongside the AC hose. This valve shuts the coolant off on the hot hose and lets the AC hose stay cool. Install took about 15 minutes, and roughly 10 minutes of that was trying to remove the factory hose off the hose barb that ran apparently glued on. But overall, easy install, fits nicely and above all it makes the AC considerably colder!

Great Kit!
If you own a 2019 or 2020 Ram 1500, 5th Gen, here is your answer to a poor performing AC system. There is a known fault with the blend door actuator in the dash which doesn't allow the door to completely close when using the AC in warmer months. The problem is the dealer has to yank out the whole dash to get to it and fix it. No sir.... I didn't want to lose the use of my truck for who knows how long and then end up chasing rattles for the rest of the time I owned the truck due to the dash being removed and reinstalled. This valve installs easily and does the trick. I leave it full open from November through the end of April, but by May in Texas it starts heating up. I run it halfway closed until June where I close it off completely until it cools off and I might need to run the heater or defroster. If the weather changes up really quick though, you can easily pop the hood and adjust the valve as needed. This makes about a 20-degree difference in the temp of the air coming out of the vents, right way, not 15-30 mins later. Another hack for 5th Gen owners 2019-2020 is through that cheap cabin air filter, and go with a K&N lifetime filter that you can clean, dry out, and reinstall. It hugely increases the volume of air flow coming out of your vents. You're welcome!

Great idea!
Remove the "engine out" heater hose from the metal tube that comes from the engine. I had to cut mine, as it would not budge. If you have to cut it, be sure to cut as little as possible. Then, cut the remaining hose on the tube long ways and open it to remove. Be careful not to go so deep that you score the metal deeply. Install the included hose onto the valve BEFORE installing onto the engine side. Clamp engine side then install the original heater hose onto the valve. Clamp the hose. The hoses are a tight fit so, if you don't have strong hands, you may need a rubber-friendly lubricant. Don't use too much, as it will be introduced into the cooling system. Once installed, be sure your overflow reservoir is filled to max level with the proper coolant for Ram. DO NOT use universal coolant. Make sure it says Ram on the jug. Use the pre-mixed 50/50 coolant, as tap water is HORRIBLE for your cooling system. It's winter now, so I won't be able to test this for months but any improvement will be welcome when the Las Vegas summer returns. Especially if we hit 120 again this year.

Decent product, terrible clamps
Overall a decent product. Started leaking shortly after installation. I would suggest before installing to replace the clamps woth higher quality ones.

If you’re debating, just do it
I was never happy with the temperature of the AC in my 2019 Ram (especially compared to my 25 yr old Jeep which chucks ice cubes at my face) but it wasn’t quite bad enough to bring it into the stealership. Prior to installing the valve, I took a 25 minute drive and read the AC temperature with the thermometer, 59°. After installing the valve, I took another 25 minute drive on a day with similar outdoor temperature and checked again, 39°. I then opened the valve and let the truck sit there and watched the temperature climb up 13° over 4-5 minutes. Massive difference. Worth every penny, my only regret being I didn’t buy this earlier. I didn’t use the hose that came with the kit. I just cut out a 1 inch section of the hose that was already there and slid the valve on. It does take a bit of work to get the valve into the hose - I took a little bit of 10w30 and put it around the barbs on the valve to help slide in easier. You will lose some coolant in the process, but not a ton. Definitely have a jug of coolant on hand and check your coolant level a few drives after installing this to ensure it’s still full.

Works Great! Fairly Easy Install
It’s a very noticeable difference for your AC. I installed this today on my 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 5.7 Hemi non-ETorque. It’s not gonna make your AC Ice Cold like other vehicles but does drop the temp quite a bit. The install was fairly easy, but the provided hose diameter is small so it takes a bit on man handling and tight grip strength to get the hose to attach to the provided ball valve and the factory hose. You will loose some coolant during install so I recommend having a pan to catch the coolant that drains. You won’t loose a lot of coolant but I went and bought more and topped off the reservoir just to be safe. Defiantly worth the $22!
