Avery Waterproof Printable Shipping Labels with Sure Feed, 2" x 4", White, 100 Blank Mailing Labels (15513)

Use the Thick paper setting on your laser printer.The first label that I printed on our high speed office copier was terrible. The toner was smudged and peeling. Clearly there was a fusing problem.Then I remembered there is a dialog box where you can tell the printer what type of paper you have. Mine was set to "plain and recycled", which was clearly the problem for these labels. I switched to "Thick 3", the printer worked more slowly, but the toner was properly fused.

Work well for what i wanted

So far so good.I bought these to label bottles for water quality samples. Right now I use the Avery 2" x 4" shipping labels that are not weatherproof. They work well but we have to tape them to make them waterproof. We use two 2" x 6" tape strips to completely cover the label. This is an added expense and requires more time to prepare the bottles for sampling. I printed up one page of labels (10 individual labels) and put them on our sampling bottles. We use a color xerox laser printer for printing labels as we use color on our labels. I then threw the bottles into a cooler filled with ice and water and left them overnight to simulate how we hold our water samples.I checked the labels the next day and they looked perfect. I rubbed my fingers over the labels to see if the ink or label would rub off and the labels look and felt like they did when I printed them out. The water looks to bead off the label like a vinyl sticker. I left the bottles in the cold water with the labels attached for the weekend and will check them out come Monday. I was very impressed though as I did not expect the labels to work so well as they are described as weatherproof.The only issue I had was the labels arrived with some text on all the labels. It almost looked like a water mark of the Avery logo and some text. Amazon took care of the issue so I can not complain about it but just warn those to look at the labels before printing to see if they have any marks on them and if they do get Amazon to refund the purchase price.I will update soon with my findings and with pictures but so far so good.***UPDATE***The labels survived 72 hours in the water with ease. I pulled the bottles out and while they were still wet I tried rubbing the ink off. I could not get the ink off at all. These are the real deal waterproof labels. I did try to remove the ink so I sprayed the labels with acetone and the ink after a few seconds of spraying started to come off. This was just to test the resistance to a known chemical. If you are using these labels around chemicals be mindful of that. I would say that these are the best labels I have used to date.

Work great, hold up great. Just be sure it's where you want it when applying... they sticky.

Buyer Beware: these labels smudge like crazy! I bought them to make a label for a styrofoam cup, knowing they would be subject to condensation. The label never even made it that far. They printed well out of the printer, but smudged immediately. I thought maybe I hadn’t waited long enough, so I printed and then waited over an hour to apply. Same issue. Ink smudged. I’m not sure how this could be considered waterproof. See photos: keep in mind that this is before any liquid!

So, the good: they're nice-looking labels, matte finish, a good size, and because I used the correct kind of printer, I had zero issues with ink. It also is easy to get ahold of the template for this product, and although Avery wants you to give your email in order to DL it even as a guest, you can get around that.Here's my issue: I printed a total of 4 sheets. 3 of those sheets came out crumpled because they caused a jam in the printer. I printed each page separately because after the first one, I thought that perhaps a fix would be to gently bend the sheets so they laid a bit more flat (they have a slight curve despite coming in a flat envelope). It worked for exactly one sheet, but I couldn't reproduce the fix, so I have three half-crumpled sheets and one that looks like the others should have.I am using a Xerox B230 printer. It may be that my printer handles slightly thicker or less flexible sheets not as well, but it would be odd for any printer to not be able to handle a label sheet. I've never had that happen before, so for now, I'm just going to caution anybody buying that this could happen. Of the pages that jammed, they DID all print and print legibly, which is a relief. The paper also didn't tear when it jammed, so I could remove it hole.These feel like 3.5 stars to me rather than a solid 3 or 4. They lose points for jamming the printer, but the labels were tough enough to make it out still usable and not get truly stuck where I couldn't remove them. I figure they'll lay flat once applied. Will update if that's not the case, as well as if anything else is worth knowing over time.For now, I won't recommend them because the jam shouldn't be happening in the first place. I don't remember seeing anything about that when scanning the reviews before buying, so it's probably not too common.

Used these on a package for retail stores when we ran out of our custom printed labels. Excellent quality, excellent adhesion, great price relative to the price at OfficeMax. Very pleased.

I purchased these to attach to my Tyvek posted signs on my property (my handwriting stinks). They are perfect form the application! They last longer than the signs in a lot of cases!

These work brilliantly! We use these to label our homemade concoctions; like tinctures, tooth soaps, mouthwash, essential oil blends, etc. Many of these bottles live in the shower and bathroom and the water proof labels hold up perfectly, with no bleed after many many months. Very satisfied.

Avery OEM labels, always great quality, thank you

It takes a bit of fiddling to find the right setting for this on my inkjet but I am printing water proof labels myself. If sealed to a dry surface, they hold well, if its damp or wet upon application, the hold is iffy at best. I still use and buy these, they work well for my needs
