If I already have a thread file, do I need this?

I bought this to repair the threads on an axle hub. During the removal of the hub, the starting thread was damaged (pressed into the second thread) and the nut would not start threading. I used this tool to chase the remaining threads. The result was OK, but not great. The chase tool will thread all the way down on the axle hub, but the original nut still binds about half way. The nut from the other hub threads all the way down on its hub, but that nut won't even start on the chased axle hub. If your thread file will clean up your issue, use that.
