Don’t get me wrong, I broke a sweat. But only because I didn’t want to stop.I’d be 10x sweatier using the axe to splice all this wood down today and it would have taken me much much longer. Great product. Highly recommend the XL over the original size. My 13 year old can use it!

This is a very effective and safe alternative to using an ax to split wood. I have the XL splitter, so it can handle very large diameter logs. It does take some additional effort to split larger diameter logs. I recommend that you mount it to a nearby stump or other wider stand using the holes on the base to add stability while splitting wood.

We take it with us and store it in our RV when we camp. Very easy to carry. Great HUSBAND PRESENT! It makes “splitting wood” a game. We have the smaller size and it works well. Love that it came with a a mallet. Worth every penny.

The included hammer is a little cheap, but it works, and the splitter itself is great. Your definitely going to want to bolt it down to a stump if you've got anything of size to use in it, but once I did that, it's been super. I had some bit pieces of really hard oak that took multiple hits with a big maul to get it to finally split, and this thing held up like a champ. Easy to use, feels super sturdy - and it works particularly great on small pieces that you would have a really hard time doing with an axe. You can be quite precise with it, which is really nice on smaller stuff. I can get all my pieces just the size I want them. So convenient

Through the years I have gotten split hardwood for our home fireplace and for camping. The split wood was always just a bit too big to start to burn easily and also to keep lit. After looking at all the wood splitters on the internet, I decided to get this one. Wow, I am so glad I did. It works great. And in a bizzar kind of way it is fun to use. And I still have all my fingers!!!I have found that the small hammer that comes with it is often too small to handle some of the larger hard wood pieces. So for the initial hit, I use my larger hammer and then finish up splitting smaller kindling using the small hammer.I really recommend this product.

I have an ax in my backyard for splitting wood, but was about to buy a chopping block for it when I decided to check out wood splitters instead. I bought this one not really expecting very much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's very sturdy and the hammer that comes with it does the job. Would definitely recommend this for firewood and would definitely buy again.

Solid and well built.However it struggled to split the good quality hardwood we get here in Australia. If there is already a crack or the softer dry wood it works flawlessly. I ended up having to make a crack with the axe first before using this.
